Mahindra Scorpio N Waiting Period Reaches Over a Year in India

The Scorpio N is one of the most liked models in the firm's range, consistently contributing to its sales numbers. The SUV is priced between Rs 13.05 lakh and Rs 24.52 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. Now, recently, the automaker revealed its intention to showcase a pickup truck prototype in South Africa, which seemingly draws inspiration from the Scorpio N. Mahindra Scorpio N: Powertrain & Features

Two engines are available for the Mahindra Scorpio N: a 2.0-litre gasoline unit and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The former produces 198bhp and 380Nm, while the latter generates between 130bhp and 173bhp and 300Nm and 400Nm, depending on the variant. Both motors get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. But the more potent variant of these two motors also comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission. While the 173bhp diesel unit is offered with the 4-wheel-drive (4WD) option, the SUV comes standard with a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration. In terms of features, the SUV gets cruise control, front and rear cameras, dual-zone climate control, six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-assist control, wireless phone charging, etc.

Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup Truck Concept Global Debut

Mahindra will launch an-all new pickup concept in South Africa on Independence Day, continuing the tradition of releasing new models on practically every Independence Day. The official teaser implies that the design is inspired by the well-known Mahindra Scorpio N. The upcoming pickup truck, code-named Z121, will be built on the same platform as the Scorpio N but with a longer wheelbase to accommodate a larger cargo bed.

Although there is no official word as of yet, industry rumours suggest that the production-spec model of the pickup concept will hit the market by early 2025. When it debuts, the Global Pik Up Vision will serve as an affordable alternative to pickup category staples like the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross.
