Mahindra Thar Gets Discounts of up to Rs 1 Lakh

The Mahindra Thar is currently one of the most popular SUVs in the country, with a long line of buyers eager to get their hands on this lifestyle vehicle. The Mahindra Thar has become more popular than ever, thanks to the introduction of the new 4X2 rear-wheel drive version, which is significantly less expensive than the 4X2 version. In India, the price for the Mahindra Thar 4X2 starts at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Mahindra Thar 4X4 variant, on the other hand, is reportedly available with a discount of up to Rs 1 lakh. Customers who wish to purchase a Mahindra Thar are reportedly eligible for cash discounts up to Rs 45,000 or an accessory package worth Rs 60,000. Additionally, buyers can also receive exchange bonuses and corporate bonuses of up to Rs 15,000 or Rs 10,000, respectively. Along with these benefits, the Indian automaker is including a three-year maintenance package and insurance benefits in the deal. For the uninitiated, the discount offers mentioned above only apply to the Mahindra Thar MY2022 LX petrol AT 4WD variant. The Mahindra Thar LX petrol AT 4WD variant for the model year 2022 is currently priced at Rs 15.82 lakh (ex-showroom).

These deals can vary depending on region, model, and dealership. Interested customers can visit a Mahindra-authorised showroom for more information on the offers. The new Mahindra Thar 4X2 is in high demand, with the waiting period for the Mahindra Thar RWD and the 4WD models going up to eighteen and four months, respectively. 

As stated earlier, Mahindra & Mahindra recently launched the Thar 2WD in India. The new model is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Along with the official launch of the rear-wheel-drive variant, the Mahindra Thar's 4WD version has also been improved in terms of capabilities.

Mechanically speaking, the Mahindra Thar 2WD models use the same 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine that only comes with a six-speed automatic transmission and generates 150bhp of maximum power and 320Nm of peak torque. The 1.5-litre diesel engine, on the other hand, comes with a six-speed manual transmission and produces 117bhp of maximum power and 300Nm of peak torque. The interior of the 2WD Thar is identical to that of the 4WD models aside from the 4x4 gear lever, which has been changed to a small storage space.

The 2WD version of the Thar SUV now comes in two new colours, Blazing Bronze and Everest White, in addition to the previously available shades of Red Rage, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black, and Aqua Marine. While the Mahindra Thar's 4WD variants will offer a mechanical locking differential (MLD), the LX Diesel 4WD trims currently only offer an electronic brake locking differential. The automaker also provides accessory kits for all Thar models, which include style packs, front and rear armrests, and additional personalised items.
