Mahindra NU.IQ

Mahindra has introduced its all‑new NU_IQ modular SUV platform, a cutting‑edge architecture designed to power the next generation of Mahindra SUVs for both Indian and international markets. The first production model built on this platform will launch in 2027, and speculation is already pointing towards the next‑generation Mahindra Bolero. The NU.IQ platform focuses heavily on passenger comfort, cabin space, and road presence. It offers a 1,563mm seating height and a 350mm driver ‘H’ point for optimal visibility, along with 227mm of ground clearance to tackle diverse terrains.

Inside, the spacious cabin boasts 830mm couple distance, 937mm of second‑row legroom, and a 1,404mm shoulder width, ensuring ample room for passengers on long journeys. These dimensions put it ahead of many current C‑segment SUV rivals in terms of interior comfort.

Mahindra has also made strides in improving ride quality and handling. The NU.IQ comes with a 5‑link rear suspension paired with DAVINCI damper technology, which the company claims is an industry first. The lightweight platform not only enhances fuel efficiency but also delivers better control, stability, and comfort both in urban traffic and on rough roads.

The NU.IQ platform allows for up to 644 litres of luggage space when loaded to the roof and 450 litres with rear seats upright. It has passed rigorous water immersion, fire resistance, and vibration durability tests.

A key strength of the NU.IQ platform is its flexibility. It can support front‑wheel drive, all‑wheel drive, petrol, diesel, and electric configurations, all while accommodating SUV lengths between 3,990mm and 4,320mm. This adaptability means Mahindra can tailor models for different countries without compromising space or performance.

With the NU.IQ, the brand is setting the stage for a new era of globally‑ready SUVs that combine Indian engineering strength with world‑class appeal.
