Mercedes Benz E Class Front Three Quarter

Mercedes-Benz has introduced a price revision for its popular E-Class sedan in India, resulting in a noticeable increase for certain variants. This update, which took effect at the beginning of this month, affects select petrol and diesel models, raising their prices compared to previous rates. The adjustment reflects a broader trend in the automotive industry, as several manufacturers – including Kia, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Nissan, and Tata Motors – have also increased prices this April, citing rising production costs, higher raw material expenses, and inflationary pressures.

The E-Class in India is offered in three configurations: E200, E220d, and 450 4Matic. As per the new pricing, the E200 and E220d variants have each become costlier by Rs 1 lakh. Post revision, the E200 is now available at a base price of Rs 79.50 lakh, while the E220d starts at Rs 82.50 lakh. In contrast, the pricing of the top-of-the-line 450 4Matic variant remains unchanged at Rs 92.50 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Powertrain Options

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is available with three engine options – two petrol and one diesel – each tailored to suit varying performance preferences. The diesel variant is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that delivers 194bhp and 440Nm of torque.

As for the petrol variants, there are two engine options: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit and a more powerful 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine. The smaller petrol engine belts out 201bhp and 320Nm of torque, while the larger variant offers a substantial performance boost with 375bhp of maximum power and 500Nm of peak torque.

All three units are integrated with a 48V mild-hybrid system, designed to enhance fuel efficiency and provide smoother power delivery. Additionally, every variant of the E-Class comes fitted with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which is standard across the lineup for seamless gear shifts and refined driving dynamics.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Features

Central to the E-Class's interior is the state-of-the-art Superscreen layout, which integrates three seamlessly connected displays: a 12.3-inch digital driver’s instrument cluster, a large 14.4-inch infotainment touchscreen in the middle, and an additional 12.3-inch screen positioned in front of the passenger. Rear occupants are offered exceptional comfort through power-operated seats that can be raised by up to 40mm and reclined to an angle of 36 degrees. Replacing traditional air vents, the vehicle employs an independent four-zone climate control interface that enables users to adjust airflow through the screen.
