Mercedes outsells Audi in India in 2016

Mercedes-Benz India has announced that they have sold 13,502 cars in the Indian market within January - December, 2015 to become the best selling

Mercedes-Benz India has announced that they have sold 13,502 cars in the Indian market within January - December, 2015 to become the best selling Luxury car brand in the country.

Among the many luxury automotive luxury brands in India, most of them are quite secretive about their sales figures and don't usually disclose numbers. However, Mercedes Benz India and Audi India recently announced the volumes they have sold in India throughout the year 2015.

Audi had announced that the company has sold 11,192 car, SUV and sports cars in India in the year 2015. Mercedes then announced that they have sold 13,502 vehicles in the India market in the same time period. which makes Mercedes-Benz the most popular automotive luxury brand in India with 2,310 more cars sold that closest rival Audi.

Mercedes had announced in January 2015, that in the year they will launch 15 new products for the Indian market, the '15 in 15' strategy. Mercedes recorded a 32% growth in the Indian market with the new C-Class becoming the most popular luxury car seeing 90% growth replacing the E-Class from its top spot. the companies performance cars division including AMG and SUV portfolios also saw steady growth in the year.

Our unsurpassed product drive and the network expansion, supported by our comprehensive service and financial programmes, catapulted our growth despite unfavourable market conditions and a slowing economy. This growth gives us confidence for the future and hopefully with a stable business environment; we can expect the luxury segment growing steadily in the increasingly important Indian market.”

Globally however, the BMW group has the maximum market share with its BMW, MINI and Rolls Royce brands by selling a total of 1,905,234 units across the globe. While Mercedes and Audi sold 1,871,511 units and 1,803,250 units respectively.
