-The Magnite SUV prices to be increased by up to 3% from January 1, 2026.
-Nissan to launch three new models in India by 2027.
According to industry sources, Nissan will implement a price hike of up to 3% across its model lineup in India from January 1, 2026. The Magnite, the brand’s only SUV in India, is priced between Rs 5.62 lakh and Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom). After the upcoming price increase, the SUV could become expensive by roughly Rs 17,000–Rs 32,000 (depending on the model), and approximately cost Rs 5.79 lakh–Rs 11.08 lakh. Nissan has not officially stated the reason behind the upcoming price hike, but we expect them to be similar to those cited by other automakers such as rising input costs and currency fluctuations.
The Nissan Magnite is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine offered in two distinct states of tune. The naturally aspirated version generates 71bhp and 96Nm, while the turbocharged unit delivers 99bhp and 160Nm. Both engines are paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Additionally, the NA motor is available with an AMT, whereas the turbo-petrol can be had with a CVT automatic. The Nissan subcompact SUV is also offered with a company-approved CNG kit developed in collaboration with Motozen.
The Magnite SUV boasts a comprehensive list of comfort and safety features including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push-button start and automatic climate control, USB Type-C charging ports, six airbags (standard), Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX mounts, ABS with EBD, and traction control.
Nissan will launch three new models, including the Gravite MPV and the Tekton compact SUV, as part of its India-focused strategy. A 7-seater SUV is also under development, though information on it remains limited.
