Royal Enfield CEO Vinod Dasari resigns

Royal Enfield CEO and ED, Vinod Dasari, has stepped down from the post and the company has confirmed the appointment of the new Executive Director. The resignation will be in effect from today.

Royal Enfield's CEO and ED, Vinod Dasari, has stepped down from the post. The company has confirmed the appointment of a new Executive Director.

Vinod Dasari, Chief Executive Officer, Royal Enfield has stepped down from the post. He has also resigned from the post of Executive Director of the Board of Eicher Motors, with effect from August 13, 2021. Dasari was in charge of the launch of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 during his tenure at Royal Enfield, of which he became the CEO in 2019.

Speaking about his time at Royal Enfield, Vinod Dasari said, 'It has been a very memorable ride over the last 2 years and more at Royal Enfield. From navigating through an unprecedented pandemic to launching several digital-oriented solutions, and from growing non-motorcycle revenues to expanding substantially outside India, we've had an amazing journey as an organization, and I am happy to have been a part of this. I have decided to move on, so I can dedicatedly follow a personal passion that has been close to me for many years now. I wish Siddhartha and the team at Royal Enfield the very best.'

Royal Enfield said that Vinod has ended his tenure with the company for personal reasons. He will now commit to building affordable and accessible healthcare facilities.

B Govindrajan has been appointed the new Executive Director of the company. Govindrajan was the Chief Operating Officer at Royal Enfield, a position that he acquired in 2013. B Govindrajan will take charge from August 18, 2021.

Speaking about Mr Dasari's exit, Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director, Eicher Motors said, 'Vinod has made significant contributions to the organization. Right from his unwavering focus on customer-facing digital properties to driving network expansion and building several new service and solutions-oriented initiatives, he has helped the company take giant steps forward. He also very ably led the company through tough and unprecedented times over the last year and a half. I wish Vinod the very best as he leaves us to pursue a project that is close to his heart.'
