Skoda Kylaq Surpasses 50,000 Unit Production Milestone in India

The Skoda Kylaq has attained a notable production milestone of 50,000 units. The SUV went on sale in the Indian market on December 2, 2024, and began reaching customers from January 27, 2025. The 50,000th unit was rolled out from Skoda’s Chakan plant in Pune, which has recently undergone a 30% production capacity expansion to meet rising demand. Skoda Kylaq: Engine

The Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 113.4bhp and 178Nm of peak torque. The engine is offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. According to Skoda, the Kylaq delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.68km/l with the manual transmission, while the automatic variant returns 19.05km/l.

The Kylaq comes fitted with an array of comfort and safety features. Inside, the sub-4m SUV offers a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with an 8-inch fully digital driver display, along with ventilated front seats featuring 6-way power adjustment. Other highlights include a 6-speaker sound system and a single-pane sunroof.

Other safety equipment includes ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring, multi-collision braking, motor slip regulation, and a rear-view camera with parking sensors, reinforcing the SUV’s focus on occupant protection.
