From the beginning of January, the selling price of all Skoda models—including the Slavia, the Kushaq, and the Kodiaq—will increase by 2% nationwide. With this announcement, the carmaker joins other manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen, Citroen, Mahindra, and Tata Motors, who have also announced price rises for their respective models that would come into effect at the same time. According to Skoda, the price increase results from rising input, supply, and operating costs. It further reports that the approaching price hike may differ based on the model, region, and variation. Given that Skoda and Volkswagen both use the same MQB A0 IN platform, there was a great expectation that Skoda would raise the cost of its vehicles in line with Volkswagen's recent announcement. For the unaware, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India will also increase the price of all of its models by a maximum of 2% to counteract the negative impacts of growing input and material prices. Let's take a closer look at the other developments of the Skoda cars in our market.
