Tata Motors has posted strong February 2026 sales numbers, reporting a 35 per cent year-on-year growth in its passenger vehicle business. The company sold 63,331 units during the month, compared to 46,811 units in February 2025. These figures include both domestic sales and exports. The steady rise shows that demand remains firm across segments, especially in SUVs and electric vehicles. With consistent monthly gains and improving export volumes, Tata Motors continues to strengthen its position in the Indian passenger vehicle market. The latest numbers also reflect how the brand’s refreshed portfolio and structured business operations are helping it maintain momentum in a competitive space.

In the domestic market alone, passenger vehicle sales reached 62,329 units, up 34 per cent from 46,435 units in the same month last year. SUVs drove most of this growth. The Nexon continued its run as the highest-selling model in the country for the second consecutive month, underlining its strong demand.

Electric vehicles delivered one of the biggest jumps. Tata Motors recorded 8,385 EV sales in February 2026, marking a 57 per cent increase over the 5,343 units sold a year ago. The rise follows the launch of updated models and the introduction of new battery-related financing options, which appear to be improving accessibility.
Exports also showed sharp improvement. Passenger vehicle shipments rose 167 per cent year-on-year to 1,002 units, compared to 376 units in February 2025. The company continues to serve markets across Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, adding to its overall volumes.
The commercial vehicle division reported 42,940 units in February 2026, up 32 per cent from 32,533 units last year. Domestic CV sales stood at 40,893 units, while exports reached 2,047 units. Overall, combined passenger and commercial sales indicate broad-based demand recovery. The company also secured second position in the Indian passenger vehicle market based on registration data, following the separation of its passenger and commercial vehicle businesses in October 2025.
