Tata Punch Crosses 2 Lakh Units Production Milestone in India

The Tata Punch compact SUV has recently surpassed the 2 lakh units production milestone. In our market, the car crossed the 1 lakh units milestone in August of the previous year. According to Tata Motors, it has taken less than two years for the SUV to achieve this milestone. The micro SUV comes with a price tag ranging between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9.52 lakh in the country. Both figures are ex-showroom Delhi. Tata Cars, undeniably, are quite popular in the country as evidenced by their sales numbers every month. The Tata Nexon was the best-selling SUV in April 2023. According to the carmaker, the Tata Nexon YoY sales rose by 11.37%, from 13,471 units sold in April 2022 to 15,002 units in the last month. The Tata Punch, on the other hand, was also among the top 5 on the top-selling list in April. From 10,132 units sold in April 2022 to 10,934 units sold in April 2023, there was a 7.92% YoY improvement in the sales of the Punch.

Tata Punch: Engine, Features & More Details 

Talking of the powertrain, the Micro SUV has a BS6 Phase-2 compliant 1.2-litre petrol unit, which is capable of delivering a maximum power of 82bhp and a 112Nm of peak torque. For transmission, it gets either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. In terms of design, the SUV has a split-headlamp arrangement at the front. Further, it gets plastic cladding all around, faux roof rails, and squared wheel arches. The feature list of the car includes a 7-inch touchscreen system, auto AC, a semi-digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, etc. For safety, the Tata Punch SUV gets dual front airbags, a reversing camera, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and rear parking sensors.

The Tata Punch micro SUV is available in four trims – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative. Its prices begin at Rs 6 lakh and go up to Rs 9.52 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi. As far as market competition goes, the compact SUV from Tata Motors locks horns with the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, and more. In the micro SUV segment, it will also compete with the upcoming Hyundai Exter in India.
