Toyota Innova HyCross crosses 2 lakh sales in India. Strong hybrid MPV sees high demand for fuel efficiency and family use.

Toyota Innova HyCross has crossed the 2 lakh sales mark in India, around three and a half years after its launch in November 2022. This is the model that changed the Innova formula. No diesel, no ladder-frame—just petrol and strong hybrid options on a monocoque platform. That shift is clearly working, especially in cities where buyers are now leaning towards better fuel efficiency and lower running costs in a family MPV.

The hybrid setup is doing most of the heavy lifting here. The 2.0-litre petrol engine with Toyota’s fifth-gen strong hybrid system puts out 184bhp, while the standard petrol version makes 173bhp. In traffic, the ability to run in EV mode for short stretches helps cut fuel use, and that’s where the Toyota Innova HyCross starts to make sense for daily driving.
The move to a monocoque chassis has also changed how this MPV feels from behind the wheel. Compared to the older Innova Crysta, the HyCross is easier to drive, with better control and improved cabin space. It continues to offer both seven-seater and eight-seater layouts, so it still covers family and fleet needs.

Safety is sorted too. The Toyota Innova HyCross comes with a five-star Bharat NCAP rating and features like pre-collision warning and lane departure alert. These systems add an extra layer of support, especially on long highway runs.
Inside, the focus stays on comfort and features. You get powered second-row seats, dual-zone climate control, and over 65 connected car functions. The hybrid battery comes with an 8-year warranty. Prices start at Rs 19.53 lakh (ex-showroom).
