Toyota Kirloskar Motor Registers Highest Ever Monthly Sales in January, Clocks 92% YoY Growth

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) sold a total of 24,609 vehicles in January 2024, marking an enormous year-on-year growth of 92%. It had cumulative sales of only 12,835 units during the same month the previous year. Last month, the automaker sold 23,197 cars in the local market and shipped 1,412 units of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder overseas. The company credited models like the Innova Hycross, the Fortuner, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the Innova Crysta for making significant contributions to its sales success. Other vehicles such as the Rumion, Glanza, Hilux, and Camry Hybrid also contributed to the achievement.

In a recent development, Toyota participated in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, during which it showcased several cutting-edge models and technologies. The flex-fuel Innova Hycross is powered by the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine linked to an electric motor as the conventional model. According to the automaker, the Innova Hycross flex-fuel hybrid is BS6 Phase II compliant and is capable of running on petrol with an ethanol blend that exceeds India's current 20% limitation.

Commenting on the sales performance, Mr. Sabari Manohar – Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “Last Calendar Year we reported our best performance in the country by selling 2,33,346 units. In the new year, we plan to enhance momentum by executing our long-term growth strategy. This involves our focus on three key areas such as - developing cleaner and greener products, driving production efficiencies, and enhancing overall customer delight. We believe that these will be the core towards further enhancing Toyota's brand presence and capitalizing on the expanding opportunities in the market.''

Toyota India December 2023 Sales

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) posted spectacular yearly sales of 2.33 lakh vehicles in 2023, demonstrating an increase of 46% from the same time the previous year. This total sales figure encompasses 2.21 lakh units sold in the domestic market as well as 11,984 cars sent abroad. In December, the company's cumulative monthly sales grew enormously to 119%. The automaker sold 22,867 cars during that month, contrary to the 10,421 units delivered the year before. It sold 1,495 units abroad and sold 21,372 units in the home market.
