Toyota Kirloskar Motor began 2026 on a strong note, posting 15% year-over-year growth in January. The company sold 33,880 units during the month, up from 29,371 units in January 2025. Breaking it down, the brand's domestic sales stood at 30,630 units last month, marking a 17% increase from last year's 26,178 units. Meanwhile, exports inched up marginally by 2% to 3,250 units, compared with 3,193 units in January 2025. This performance reflects sustained customer demand across key models such as the Hycross, Innova Crysta and Fortuner.
Commenting on the sales performance, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, 'The year 2026 started on a positive and encouraging note, with continued momentum of our product portfolio and customers trust in our commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability. A key highlight during January was the launch of the All-Electric Urban Cruiser Ebella, further strengthening our focus on delivering future-ready mobility solutions aligned with evolving customer expectations. Toyota has expanded its product range in India with the Urban Cruiser Ebella, its first EV for the domestic market. Based on the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, the Cruiser Ebella is available with two LFP battery-motor combinations, with outputs of 142bhp and 172bhp, both with 189Nm of torque. Depending on the variant, the claimed ARAI-certified range stands at up to 543 kilometres.

The Urban Cruiser Ebella will be offered in three trims, with the entry-level E1 paired exclusively with the smaller battery, while the E2 and E3 variants feature the larger pack. It is expected to go on sale in India, with prices ranging between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 21 lakh (both, ex-showroom).
