It is speculated that Sumbly is now moving to Harley-Davidson India.

Triumph India has confirmed that Vimal Sumbly has resigned from his Managing Director position after serving the company for five years.

Sumbly has been leading Triumph India since its inception in 2013. Under his leadership, the iconic British motorcycle brand established itself in the Indian market and became the second best-selling premium bike brand, after Harley-Davidson.

Sumbly also spearheaded Triumph’s global non-equity partnership with Bajaj Auto. Under this partnership, both companies agreed to collectively develop more suitable motorcycles for the emerging markets. The first fruit of this alliance is expected to come in the form of a mid-capacity motorcycle.

Prior to Triumph, Sumbly worked for Bajaj Auto across various roles for around eight years. There, he was responsible for setting up Pro Biking premium showrooms to sell KTM motorcycles. Sumbly will be succeeded by Shoeb Farooq, who has been leading Triumph’s India's Sales and Dealer Development until now.
