A maiden Formula E victory in London has given Alex a shot in the arm to finish off the season in style at the upcoming Berlin double-header.

It’s hard to put my feelings from London into words, to be honest! Formula E has been an interesting journey for me, so, to win is unbelievably special. I get the pleasure of driving the car and I’m thankful to the whole team; there’s not a group of guys and girls that doesn’t stay longer and wake up earlier than them so I’m thrilled for the whole team. Hopefully, we can continue the momentum into Berlin and end the season on a high.

I’m looking forward to returning to Berlin after last season’s epic six races in a nine-day&nbsp;finale! It was my first set of races with the team and it was great to come away with three Super Pole appearances and three points-securing finishes. It won’t be as intense this time around, with just two races, but we will be racing on two different track configurations (Sunday’s race will be the clockwise version of Saturday’s) which has meant extra preparation on the simulator.

London was incredible, and a very special result for the whole team. I’ve moved up from 17th in the Championship to 6th so I’ll be giving my everything in Berlin to give my guys and girls of the #94 car something to smile about when the flag drops.

As they say, nothing beats a home crowd! With the cheers and support of fans in his home city of London, Alex is looking forward to a supercharged race weekend – his first at home.

This weekend is going to be very special – racing in my home city of London in the United Kingdom for rounds 12 and 13 of the FIA Formula E World Championship. London is a fantastic city, and after missing the first two seasons of Formula E when the London E-Prix was held at Battersea Park, this will be my first time racing at home.

We’re racing in London just two weeks after the last rounds in New York. &nbsp;Racing around the streets of Brooklyn is always special, and it was a shame not to score a point in Saturday’s race after starting from third – I was quite happy with the qualifying and the Super Pole lap. Sunday’s second race saw us achieve a solid result, with a sixth and ninth-place finish for the team, in a weekend where we struggled with race pace.

Formula E is now such a tight and competitive championship that for our cars to finish ahead of all the factory BMW, Audi, Nissan&nbsp;and Mercedes race cars shows the quality and competitiveness in the field. We’ve been working flat out ahead of London as we want to be back up there.

This weekend is going to be a really unique one for Formula E, as it returns to the UK's capital city for the first time in five years.

The track is tight and twisty with lots of corners, and, for the first time, we’ll race on a track that is both indoor and outdoor, as it snakes through the ExCel Exhibition Centre in East London.

Qualifying is going to be key for this race, and we’ve shown that it's one of our&nbsp;strengths; I’ve had five Super Pole appearances and eight top-ten starts this season.

I’m really excited about the weekend. I can’t wait to hit the track.

Alex Lynn – A potent home advantage!

This weekend is going to be very special – racing in my home city of London in the UK for rounds 12 & 13 of the FIA Formula E World Championship. Not having raced in the first two seasons of Formula E when the London E-Prix was held at Battersea Park, this will be my first time racing at home!

An unchanged track that also happens to play right into&nbsp;Alex's wheelhouse! It looks like Alex and team Mahindra Racing are looking forward to some good results in the upcoming New York doubleheader.

I’m super excited to race in New York this weekend. It’s such an iconic city and it’s a flagship event for Formula E, so to be returning after the championship was forced to miss it last year is really special.

We’re heading to Brooklyn for rounds 10 and 11 of the seventh season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship – the first of the three double-header events that will take us to the end of the season in mid-August.

The last two races were also in the Americas –&nbsp;in Puebla, Mexico. It was a pretty eventful weekend, and positive overall. We were able to get into Super Pole qualifying on Sunday and finished both races in the points. Saturday was a very hard-fought point after coming back from a puncture early on in the race and still managing to get on the scoreboard. On Sunday, we qualified in third but got a penalty for a technical infringement, which meant we started in sixth. It was a shame as I think we really could have challenged for a podium from third, but it was a solid weekend and we know we have a decent car.

I’m fully focused on New York now. It’s a track I feel I excel at, having scored a pole position there on my Formula E debut, and I feel at home there.&nbsp;So, I’m super excited for the races and I think our car can go well around the streets of Brooklyn.

It’s a track that seems to suit me, my teammate Alexander Sims and the Mahindra Racing team, who have scored two podiums at the track in previous seasons. We’ll be racing on the same circuit configuration as the last time Formula E visited in Season 5, so we’re all familiar with the challenge.

Having scored points in the last four consecutive races, I’m aiming to continue that consistency and fight for more podiums. What we’ve seen in the Formula E championship this year is that it is anybody’s game –&nbsp;consistency and regular points scoring is key. It’s an incredibly close battle; there are just 40 championship points separating Edoardo Mortara, who is currently at the top of the standings, and where I am.

On a Formula E race day, there are 25 points available for a race win, three&nbsp;points for pole position and a point apiece for the driver fastest in group qualifying and the fastest lap of the race. With two races again in New York, that’s a lot of points available in a very topsy turvy season.

I’m sure, as usual,&nbsp;the weekend will be full of unpredictability,&nbsp;fast-paced &amp;&nbsp;close-fought racing and I’m determined to move closer to the top of the table after two races in that special city.

Alex Lynn: Playing to my strength – New York!

I’m super excited to race in New York this weekend. It’s such an iconic city and it’s a flagship event for Formula E, so to be returning after the championship was forced to miss it last year is really special!

Alex is charged and excited to take on the first-ever double-header in&nbsp;Mexico, courtesy of a welcome gap since Formula E's previous outing in Monaco.

By the time we race in Mexico this weekend for rounds eight and nine of the 2020/21 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, it will have been six weeks since our last race in Monaco due to the mid-season break and I’m excited to get back to racing action.&nbsp;

Looking back to Monaco, it was always going to be a very tight battle and qualifying was going to be crucial. It’s a race that we know overtaking is difficult, although the action-packed race did show that, wherever Formula E visits, we know how to put on a show! In group qualifying the top half of the grid were separated by just half a second in lap times. I qualified in ninth and finished in that position, collecting two championship points.

It was a pretty crazy race and within the top ten there was a lot of jostling for position, but we were all going around in circles with each other. But, as a whole, it was a good spectacle and it was great for Formula E to race on the full track at Monaco.

I think the season so far has gone pretty well. As a team, we’re on almost the same amount of points before the halfway mark as all of last season, so we are growing and improving. We have a brand new powertrain, which is fast and efficient, and there’s been a lot of changes, so I feel pretty proud because there’s been some good highlights and also moments that we’ve learnt from, but we’ve been looking quite strong all season.

And now we move on to a circuit in Mexico that is brand new for everyone. We’ve previously raced in Mexico City but we now move to Puebla, which is a couple of hours drive away from the capital city.&nbsp;

It’s a contemporary race track and is quite fast and flowing and open for Formula E. It’s completely different to anything we’ve raced before in this championship, so that will bring a new set of challenges. It will be hard on tyre degradation and we’ll be running in high temperatures and in high altitude. I don’t think it will be as stressful on the battery as Santiago, but it’s going to be pretty tough nonetheless.

Our objective is firmly on getting the best results we can out of our package and continuing adding to the points tally for our championship campaign. We have two races in Mexico and I’ll be working my hardest to extract the maximum out of the weekend.

After Monaco, we now move on to a circuit in Mexico that is brand new for everyone. We’ve previously raced in Mexico City but we now move to Puebla, which is a couple of hours drive away from the capital city

After scoring his maiden podium finish of the season last month in Valencia, Alex heads to Monaco with a renewed confidence and, of course, hungry for more such results!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

We head to Monaco this week for the next round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. It’s been an extremely busy time for the whole team, running a third of the season 7 races in a five-week period, but we head into this weekend hungry and confident after our podium last time out in Valencia.&nbsp;

I’ve been close to a podium so many times in Formula E, and to finally get my first one with Mahindra Racing in Spain felt super sweet! The whole team and I have been working so hard, and it feels right to finally get one on the board.&nbsp;

We can say we could or should have won that race but, unfortunately, we got taken out of a nice position [by Norman Nato], but that’s the way it goes sometimes. I could tell the drivers behind me were getting anxious and a bit racy and that ended with us being pushed into the gravel. It was a high-speed game of chess really, but we showed the fortitude to come back from ninth to finish on the podium and I’m really happy about the result.&nbsp;

From Valencia we headed a couple of hours away to the Calafat circuit, also in Spain, to do a test day, and then I have been back in the UK on the simulator doing preparation work for Monaco, so it’s been a really busy time between races.&nbsp;

Monaco is a special track and this year, for the first time, Formula E will be running on the full track; a slightly modified version of the famous Formula 1 circuit. It’s a track every motorsport fan knows - I have memories of watching F1 when I was young – it was always a mythical and special event to watch on TV. I was the biggest Michael Schumacher fan and he always went well in Monaco.&nbsp;

The Formula E race is going to be a real challenge because the track is very technical, even as a street circuit. I really like the circuit and have got some good results there in the past in different series; I have a fourth and fifth-place finish there on the big track from when I raced in the GP2 Series and I also finished in the points the last time Formula E raced there, albeit on the shorter track, in 2019. &nbsp;

It’s that race that you want to win but, by the same token, it’s worth exactly the same amount of points as every other race, so you need to drive the race and not the occasion. I don’t think overtaking will be that easy, so qualifying is going to be key. As a team, we’re building on some good momentum and starting to get the maximum out of the package we have, as well as starting to build a winning mentality. We’ll be approaching the challenge one session at a time in Monaco and focusing on the job at hand.&nbsp;

Alex Lynn – Hungry & confident for Monaco

We head to Monaco this week for the next round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. We head into this weekend hungry and confident after our podium last time out in Valencia. 

In this exclusive blog, Alex Lynn reflects on Mahindra's performance in the first two rounds and talks about what to expect in Valencia.&nbsp;

It’s good to get momentum going in the championship now, and we’re back racing just two weeks after the Rome E-Prix. Rome was a bit of a weekend of what could have been. We scored good points from a medium qualifying on Saturday. On Sunday, qualifying again wasn’t where we wanted it to be, but we were able to come back through to finish P9 on the road. Unfortunately, we got an end of race penalty for not taking all of our attack modes when a last-minute safety car scuppered our chances.

In terms of race pace, we had a good team performance all weekend. As we’ve shown in both Riyadh and Rome when Mahindra Racing qualifies up the front the car stays there very nicely. It was a big well done to Alexander Sims for his podium, finishing second in the race on Sunday, I think it’s great for the whole team and it gives us a push onto Valencia this coming weekend.

I’m really excited, I think it will be fun and that we’re going to go pretty well there. Racing on a permanent circuit is totally different to what Formula E has done before but I think it’s going to be great and could suit us quite nicely. To make the circuit a little bit more ‘Formula E’ in terms of characteristics, the organisers have put in a chicane and tightened up one of the corners.

As a team, we have been working a lot on efficiency and been doing well so our main priority is putting the whole day together in Valencia. In terms of race pace, we know we are strong and we know we’ve got an efficient car. Mahindra had always had a strength in qualifying but the last few weekends we have not been as strong and that’s something we’re focusing on. Both I and Alexander [Sims] have had a Super Pole each this season in qualifying, but we want more, and we are working on maximising the whole day with this brand new powertrain.

Having tested at Valencia in the official pre-season test, we have a good reference and it’s a strength that we’ve driven there already with the new powertrain. I like the Circuit Ricardo Tormo – it’s a really nice track.

The results this season have been quite mixed up between the teams, but I think the Valencia E-Prix will be the first one this year where you will see that if you haven’t got a good car, it will be difficult for you to do well. This race is going to be about pure efficiency and chassis balance and the result is going to be very much related to your competitiveness. I’m looking forward to it!&nbsp;

Alex can't help but show his enthusiasm for&nbsp;the upcoming double-header Formula E round in Rome, Italy. Here's a look at his strategy to master an almost new track!

I’m super motivated ahead of the Rome E-Prix, which it has recently been announced will now be a double-header event, with two races taking place on Saturday, 10th April and Sunday, 11th April. It marks the start of the three European race events in quick succession, with Valencia and Monaco then set to take place every fortnight after.

It’s exciting to get into a rhythm with the calendar like this; that’s what racing is all about and I think everyone involved prefers it when the action is like this. The championship will now gain&nbsp;momentum going forward and we start to get deep into the season. It is great to be able to focus on that and the competition after a long period of preparation.

Rome will be really interesting this year as it’s pretty much a new track. Although we have been to the Italian city for the past two years, the track is very different from the old configuration which will give all drivers a new challenge. I’ve been spending some time in the simulator at the factory, with my engineers, and, from the work that we’ve done, I think it’s going to be a circuit that I enjoy. &nbsp;

There was a jump on the old track that was a lot of fun and isn’t present on the new configuration but, while we’ve lost that feature, we’ve gained in other places. We’re heading to a very technical track that has some really tight and twisty parts with a lot of ninety-degree corners and also a very fast section. It’s right up there with some of the longest Formula E tracks and I’m sure it will provide the usual brilliant action that Formula E is known for.&nbsp;

From the data that we have from the work we’ve done so far this season, I firmly believe we’ve got a competitive car. So, we will head to Rome focusing on ourselves and ensuring that we produce the best weekend that we can.&nbsp;

I’m personally really excited that Rome has been turned into a double-header event and will now feature two races. We put in a huge amount of preparation for each event and, if we’re there, it makes sense to have a double shot at results over a weekend.

Looking ahead to the&nbsp;first-ever World Championship season of Formula E, Alex Lynn&nbsp;feels positive about what is to come.

Following an enjoyable and productive six races with Mahindra Racing in Berlin last year, I’m back with the team again, and this time for the entire season. It is exciting to see the direction that this team is headed, from its brand new facilities to a host of new partners that have joined the Mahindra Racing family, as well as getting to know its hard-working and passionate staff.&nbsp;

Looking ahead to this first-ever World Championship season of ABB Formula E, I feel very positive about what is to come. Partnering with Formula E race winner Alexander Sims, I will be racing the M7Electro, the latest&nbsp;Mahindra Racing car – fitted with a ZF powertrain – that is a big step up from previous seasons’ and promises some impressive pace.

The season begins on 26th February with a double-header in Saudi Arabia, after a short delay that saw the postponement of the original opening rounds in Santiago. The two races, which will take place around the streets of Diriyah, are making history as the first-ever Formula E night races. A number of drivers on the grid, including Alexander Sims and I, have competed in 24hr races in their careers and so already have experience of night racing, but this will be the first time any of us experience it in a Formula E car.

The Diriyah circuit also offers a challenging layout that will push us all to our limit, including a very tight section of corners towards the start. The dusty nature of the track also means that grip can vary depending on the session, making having a perfect strategy even more paramount. I also know that with the standard of our competitors, the whole weekend will be very tight, but I expect us to be pushing for some good points.

Building off the back of my Mahindra Racing debut in August 2020, I have been preparing non-stop for this season to begin. A mixture of simulator work and physical fitness regimes has ensured that I remained on the ball during the offseason, and it was obviously fantastic to drive the M7Electro properly for the first time at pre-season testing. Alexander and I were extremely competitive in Valencia; topping the timesheets one of the days. At the end of the day though, it’s all about what happens when those lights go out on track in Diriyah.

In terms of performance for the whole season, my expectation is for us to be picking up some trophies – it is what this team and this car deserve. The desire of the whole team to achieve what we all know we can is so strong, and this is mirrored in the hard work put in by every single employee.
