Marc Marquez claimed his 68th premier-class win at the 2025 Dutch MotoGP, equalling Giacomo Agostini’s long-standing record. The Ducati rider held off Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi in a tense battle at Assen, inching closer to Valentino Rossi’s record of 89 victories. The momentous win was overshadowed by a crash involving his younger brother, Alex Marquez, who sustained a fractured left hand after a high-speed contact with KTM’s Pedro Acosta.

Bezzecchi’s second-place finish highlighted Aprilia’s rising form this season. The Italian kept relentless pressure on Marquez throughout the race and helped showcase the bike’s growing competitiveness. Francesco Bagnaia, who briefly led early on, slipped down the order but recovered to take third. Despite the podium, the result leaves the Ducati rider trailing Marquez by 126 points in the standings, intensifying the title pressure.

It was a weekend to forget for Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo. After crashing out in Saturday’s sprint, he struggled off the line in the main race and quickly dropped back. Alex Marquez had been running second before being passed by Bezzecchi and Acosta. His race ended after the crash with Acosta, and he was later diagnosed with a broken hand requiring surgery.
