The 2025 Miami Grand Prix featured a unique Formula One drivers’ parade. Instead of the usual trucks, drivers rode in life-sized Lego F1 cars. Each team had its own custom Lego vehicle, made in team colours with official F1 liveries. Fans at the Miami International Autodrome enjoyed the fun as drivers circled the 5.4-kilometre track in these creative builds. Formula 1 stars like Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen joined the Lego parade. Drivers, known for their intense rivalries, became playful as they drove the Lego cars. A viral video showed them steering around corners, driving side-by-side, and sharing light bumps. For once, the pressure was gone. It was all about fun and fan interaction.
These Lego F1 cars were based on the Lego Speed Champions series but built at life-size scale. Each car used about 400,000 Lego bricks and weighed nearly 1,000 kg. Though the top speed was just 20 km/h, the cars had working parts, Pirelli tyres, and sponsor decals.
A team of 26 Lego experts built the cars in the Lego Group’s Kladno factory in the Czech Republic. They spent over 22,000 hours on the project. Each brick was placed with care to match the aerodynamic shapes and logos of the real F1 cars. The result was a working model that amazed fans and drivers alike.
Even though the Lego F1 cars were slow, the parade became the highlight of the Miami Grand Prix. Fans cheered as drivers climbed into the tight Lego cockpits and waved.
