Nearly half of the Formula 1 teams are preparing with special liveries for the forthcoming race at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit, which is why the F1 grid is revving up so quickly. Williams, a team renowned for its rich heritage, has lately debuted a stunning livery that pays homage to the well-known "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign. For the very first Vegas race on the F1 schedule, four other teams have followed suit and altered the design of their vehicles.

Ferrari recently released a teaser image of their updated livery for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. While Alpine has made just minor changes to its visual identity, Red Bull unveiled their next iteration in their series of designs created by fans. The uniqueness of this Formula 1 event is heightened by the fact that Alfa Romeo also unveiled a special all-black livery.

The British Formula 1 team, now owned by the American firm Dorilton Capital, has taken a novel approach to its livery design for the forthcoming race. The engine cover and rear wing endplates are emblazoned with the renowned 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' sign, offering a unique visual identity. The team decided to break from tradition for this event, as evidenced by the strong blue Williams lettering that now runs the length of the engine cover.

The team's success at the 1981 Caesars Palace Grand Prix exemplifies Las Vegas's importance to the sport. For Williams, this race was the pinnacle of their history, since Australian driver Alan Jones won it, giving them a win at one of the two previous Formula 1 races contested in Las Vegas. The team's other driver, Carlos Reutemann, lost the world title to rival Nelson Piquet on the same day, so the victory was tinged with sad memories.

F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix: Alfa Unviells all-black livery

The next Las Vegas Grand Prix will mark the debut of Alfa Romeo's third unique one-off livery for the 2023 season. This weekend's inaugural event on the Las Vegas Strip Circuit will feature Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, both of whom will be sporting an all-black look adorned with playing card themes. This unique Las Vegas livery pays homage to the city's thriving gambling culture by using a black base colour and designs inspired by the city's iconic playing card suits: hearts, spades, diamonds, and clubs.

This isn't the first occasion this year that Alfa Romeo has played around with different paint schemes. After debuting with green text and front wing details at the Belgian Grand Prix, the team switched gears for the Italian Grand Prix by turning the car's back end into the Italian flag and giving the front half green stripes.

Alfa Romeo is locked in a fierce battle for the constructors' championship title with Williams, AlphaTauri, and Haas. With two rounds left, they are in ninth place, 12 points behind Williams and 5 points behind AlphaTauri.
