F1 has introduced a new rule for the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix, requiring every driver to make at least two pit stops during the race. The rule also mandates the use of at least three different tyre compounds. This change will apply regardless of weather conditions, aiming to increase strategic options and encourage more on-track action, especially on circuits where overtaking is limited. This decision has sparked mixed reactions in the F1 community. Some welcome it as a way to make the race more exciting, while others believe it could complicate strategy on a track where overtaking is rare. Monaco's tight, narrow layout makes passing extremely difficult, and teams now face added pressure to make the right calls on pit timing and tyre choice.

F1 officials hope the regulation will bring more unpredictability to the race. Unlike previous years, where one-stop strategies were common, teams must now adjust to a more dynamic approach. The focus will shift to planning pit windows carefully and balancing tyre wear with track position.
This change might also set a precedent for similar circuits in the calendar. Races on tracks where overtaking is difficult could see similar rules introduced. As F1 continues to evolve, such adjustments intend to improve the sport’s competitiveness and viewer experience.
