MotoGP: Ducati's Gigi Dall’Igna Anticipates a Wider Gap Between Factory and Satellite Teams' Bikes in 2024

At the 2023 MotoGP world championship, riders Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin took first and second place, respectively, on the newest Desmosedicis GP23. But the Grand Prix wins came from motorcycles from the previous year, with three coming from Marco Bezzecchi and one from Fabio di Giannantonio. Alex Marquez won two sprints and Bezzecchi won one. Because of his remarkable performance, Bezzecchi decided to stick with VR46 rather than accept an offer from Pramac that would have given him access to the newest Ducati equipment in 2024. In addition, it was a major factor in Marc Marquez's choice to leave Repsol Honda and race for Gresini next season, following in his brother Alex's footsteps.

Ducati Corse general manager Dall'Igna admitted that, despite these victories, it was difficult to undertake major design improvements because of the lack of winter testing. His prediction is that the performance difference between the present GP23 and the next GP24 will be even wider.

Riders from the Factory team, Enea Bastianini and Francesco Bagnaia, and Jorge Martin and Franco Morbidelli from Pramac will all be riding the newest Desmosedicis for the forthcoming season. Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez from Gresini, as well as Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio di Giannantonio from VR46, will be riding bikes from the 2023 season.

MotoGP: Gresini Ducati Announces Launch Date

Gresini Ducati set the launch date for the 2024 MotoGP season before its opponents, demonstrating a strategic lead. On January 20th in Riccione, the team will present the new liveries for MotoGP, Moto2, and MotoE.

In spite of his impressive record, which includes seven MotoGP victories in the past two seasons, Gresini has been operating without a title sponsor since its affiliation with Ducati. The fact that the team has been so successful without a title sponsor is even more impressive.

Marc Marquez comes with a hefty financial advantage because of the backing of sponsors like Red Bull. The Marquez brothers have contracts that go all the way through 2024, meaning they will be riding a year-old Desmosedicis in the forthcoming season. With the new liveries shown and the buzz surrounding their partnership with the Gresini Ducati building, MotoGP fans can hardly wait for the season to begin.

MotoGP: Martin Analyzes Where Championship was Lost

After suffering successive defeats in Indonesia and Australia, Jorge Martin's pursuit of the MotoGP World Championship took a critical turn. After taking the lead at Mandalika and seemed set for a repeat performance in Sunday's race, the Pramac Ducati rider appeared to be well on his way to another victory. The first big error Martin made in eleven Grand Prix races occurred when he had a small off-line incident and went shockingly lowside. He went from leading by seven points to trailing by twenty-seven points after an unneeded tyre gamble cost him first place on the last lap in Australia, just seven days later.

Jorge Martin will continue to ride for Pramac Ducati in 2024 on the newest Desmosedici bikes, despite these setbacks. In spite of this, he plans to return from his disappointments and pursue his championship dreams.
