When Pramac Racing won the MotoGP team title last year, it was their most successful season to date. Jorge Martín was largely responsible for this accomplishment; he battled Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia for the title right up until the last race, but Martín ended up getting second place. Even though Pramac Racing is the factory team and has the newest Ducati Desmodichi bikes, Martín has warned that this season, which is the last year of his contract, will also be his last as a satellite rider. In his quest for a factory bike, he is willing to go outside the Ducati squad for opportunities.

After moving to MotoGP in 2021, Jorge Martín became a vital part of Pramac Racing. This part of his career, however, is coming to an end following his remarkable runner-up result last year. There are openings for the forthcoming season at a number of different manufacturers, as one of their present riders is about to be released from their contract. Repsol Honda is one such company. Joan Mir's contract will finish in 2024 and Luca Marini's will end in 2025.

According to the boss of Pramac, who spoke to the media, Ducati decides who will be on the official team. They came back to the force with Jorge at one point last year, but it wasn't a very good idea to do it during the season as it created some diversion.

The Pramac boss added Jorge Martín could be interested in pursuing prospects with Honda, highlighting that the Japanese team needs a strong rider and that, among the younger talent, Jorge is the one who can provide significant commitments.

For the 2024 MotoGP season, Honda plans to make good use of the concession system. Honda is hell-bent on making a comeback after a rough few years and a lot of changes in 2023, when they lost stars Marc Marquez to Ducati and Alex Rins to Yamaha.

The new system gives Honda and Yamaha an advantage in engine development by allowing them to have an endless number of private test days with their riders. Due to the importance of testing, Honda has reportedly scheduled as many as 22 separate private test sessions.

It appears that Honda's problems will not be resolved immediately, despite the signing of Johann Zarco and Luca Marini, two riders from Ducati. Marini has shown some encouraging indications, though. Honda and Yamaha are given additional testing time through the concession system to improve their performance following dismal results. These companies don't have to worry about regulations limiting their ability to innovate their engines, unlike their competitors.
