National Supercross 2016: Natraj win headlines third round at Gurgaon

The third round of the 2016 MRF National Supercross Championship in Gurgaon concluded successfully amid a hot, humid and quite dusty afternoon on Sunday. The Supercross event attracted entries from over 85 riders across eight categories.

Privateer Vishal Barguje took top honours in the coveted SX1 category ahead of Yash Pawar of Lorraines Racing and Rugved Barguje of TVS Racing. In Novice class, Navneeth Krishnan emerged victorious, followed by Jagdeesh Kumar (2^nd) and Venkatesh Shetty (3^rd). All the three riders were riding tricked-out Hero Impulse motorcycles.

R.Natraj of TVS Racing managed to finish on top in the Group B Indian Experts category as he pipped Yash Pawar and Rugved Barguje. In the Locals category, Irfan Alam took a comfortable win ahead of Umesh Yadav and Navin Parewa. The Indian Experts Class C category again saw R.Nataraj step on the top step of the podium, followed by his teammate Tanveer AW and Amal Verghese.

Taking the win in the Experts Group C category was Suhail Ahmed. Amal Verghese finished second while Jagdeesh Kumar settled for third. In the SX2 category with privateers riding ‘foreign’ machines, Ruguved Barguje won ahead of Yash Pawar and Adnan Ahmed.

Yuvraj Kondedeshmukh emerged as the winner in the JR SX category - which comprised participants under 15 years of age - fending off Karan Karle (2^nd) and Tanika Shanbaug (3^rd).
