Despite being in the market for a long time, the NS Pulsar range has been selling well. The Indian bikemaker has already unveiled the 2024 updated versions of both bikes on its social media platforms. The updated bikes will feature a few tech additions to bring them on par with the competition in their respective categories. However, it is important to note that the basic design elements, such as the robust tank and split seat, will continue to remain the same as before. Bajaj Auto is likely to announce the price tags of the motorcycles soon, and given the upgrades, they are expected to be slightly more expensive than the outgoing models. Now, without any further ado, let's take a look at what's new for the NS200 and the N160.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="line-height:normal"><span style="font-size:18.0pt">2024 Bajaj Pulsar NS200, NS160: Latest Updates</span></span></p>

<p><span style="line-height:normal"><span style="font-weight:normal">The 2024 iterations of the motorcycles will feature LED headlamps with LED daytime running lamps as standard. The Pulsar NS200 and the NS160 initially lagged behind their competitors, given that they featured halogen headlights. However, the upgraded lighting configuration will make them more comparable with the competition. </span></span></p>

In terms of segment sales, Bajaj's local two-wheeler deliveries increased by 36 per cent year on year to 1.93 lakh units in January 2024 from 1.42 lakh units in the previous year. The manufacturer dispatched 1.15 lakh 2Ws abroad, representing a 14 per cent increase over the previous year. Overall, two-wheeler sales totalled 3.08 lakh units in January this year, representing a 27 per cent increase over the same month in 2023.</span></span></p>

The addition of upside-down front forks to both motorcycles, which replace the standard ones on the previous model, is the biggest improvement.&nbsp;According to some reports, Hero MotoCorp is developing similar suspension components for the Xtreme 160R. With this suspension set-up, a test mule for the 160cc Hero MotoCorp roadster-segment motorcycle was spotted a few days back. For Indian customers, the new iterations of each model are now available at a price increase of Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000, respectively (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Both motorcycles share the same styling, bodywork, and semi-digital equipment, with the exception of their respective engines. Larger tyres are on the NS200 to handle its higher output levels.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>2023 Bajaj Pulsar NS160, NS200: Mechanical Specifications</h2>

<p>As mentioned before, the mechanical specifications are the same as in earlier iterations. Thus, the 160.3cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine that continues to produce 17bhp of maximum power at 9,000rpm and a peak torque of 14.6Nm at 7,250rpm is retained in the 2023 Bajaj Pulsar NS160. On the other hand, the 199cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve, and three-spark plug motor is still present in the NS200. This engine, which is coupled to a six-speed gearbox, has a maximum output of 24.1bhp at 9,750rpm and a peak torque of 18.7Nm at 8000rpm.</p>

<h2>2023 Bajaj Pulsar NS160, NS200: What's New?</h2>

<p>The 2023 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and the NS200's USD (Upside Down Fork) front fork measures 33mm. The bikes are now offered with circular disc brakes and Grimeca callipers rather than Petal disc brakes and Bybre callipers. The front disc is now bigger than that of the NS250 and the F250, measuring 300mm instead of the previous 260mm. It has dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard equipment. The weight of the NS160 has increased by about 1kg since the previous version to 152kg. Meanwhile,&nbsp;the NS200 has slightly decreased in weight, going from 159.5kg to 158kg.</p>

<h2>2023 Bajaj Pulsar NS160, NS200: Price and Rivals</h2>

2023 Bajaj Pulsar NS160, NS200 Deliveries Begin in India

Bajaj Auto has begun deliveries of the 2023 Pulsar NS200 and the Pulsar NS160 in the country. Our market received the updated motorcycles in March 2023. The most noticeable difference between the two motorcycles is the addition of upside-down front forks, which were absent in the previous model.

<p><strong>Bajaj Auto is prepping an all new motorcycle which will be based upon an all-new platform. What will it be? A new Bajaj Avenger or an all-new Bajaj Pulsar NS200?</strong></p>

<p>When Bajaj released the news of its upcoming electric vehicle production facility, Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto Limited carftly mentioned that the firm is working upon an all new platform which will spawn a new motorcycle.</p>

<p>“Going forward, for the Bajaj portfolio, except for implementing one state-of-the-art ICE platform that is currently under development, all our R&amp;D drive train resources are now laser focused on creating EV solutions for the future.” said Rajiv.</p>

<p>Recently, Bajaj introduced the Pulsar N250 and F250 which are based on a newly developed platform. So far, it is the Pulsar NS200, which hasn’t received a substantial upgrade for almost a decade. The motorcycle uses the same chassis and engine which were introduced back in 2012, although, the motorcycle has gone through two emission changes, the mechanical bits of the engine are largely the same, so are the cycle parts.</p>

<p>The motorcycle currently gets a fuel-injection system as oppoesed to a carburetor which was offered with the BS3 and BS4 Pulsar NS200, and there are a few cosmetic tweaks as well. The 200cc street-naked motorcycle has received its fair share of updates, however, the motorcycle is still very much out dated in terms of equipment compared to its direct rival, the KTM 200 Duke.</p>

<p>Most likely, Bajaj is developing a 200cc cutting edge motorcycle which will be at par with the new-gen KTM 200 Duke and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V as well.</p>

<p>However, before the new motorcycle arrives, Bajaj Auto could revel a new-quarter litre adventure motorcycle based on the new Pulsar 250 twins. Yes, the name Bajaj ‘Adventure Sports’ is coming back.</p>

<p><strong>Bajaj introduces Pulsar NS200 with a bigger&nbsp;front disc brake and single-channel ABS.&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/bajaj/">Bajaj</a> has launched the ABS-equipped version of its popular Pulsar NS200. The Pulsar NS200 ABS is priced at Rs 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) – which makes it around Rs 12,000 dearer than the regular model. As per Bajaj, the ABS version is currently available in all metro cities and will be progressively available across outlets in other cities and towns.</p>

<p>The ABS system fitted on the Pulsar NS200 is a single-channel system, meaning it only works on the front wheel. The front wheel now gets a bigger 300mm disc (the standard version comes with a 280mm front disc) while the rear wheel gets a 230mm disc. Other than the introduction of ABS, the Pulsar NS200 is unchanged from the regular model. The powertrain is the same 199.5cc four-valve single-cylinder engine with triple spark ignition system that develops 23bhp of maximum power output and 18Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox.</p>

<p>Commenting on the introduction of the Pulsar NS200 ABS, Eric Vas, President – Motorcycles, Bajaj Auto Ltd said, said, “We have received a large number of requests from our customers for ABS and hence we are extending it to the&nbsp; NS200. The introduction of the ABS variant will enhance the bikes performance appeal and strengthen our leadership in this performance segment.”</p>

<p>The Pulsar NS200 ABS is available in three colours - Wild Red, Mirage White and Graphite Black. The introduction of the ABS version of the Pulsar NS200 also gives the motorcycle an advantage over its arch-rival, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/reviews/bike-reviews/tvs-apache-rtr-200-4v-review-first-ride/">TVS Apache RTR 200 4v</a>, which still doesn’t have its ABS version on sale.</p>
