Yes, it’s got a folding roof, it’s a 2+2 with two doors. But the way it moves, glides, and struts down the road with more unabashed swagger… that’s where it separates itself from the others. It isn’t just a convertible. It’s a style statement telling others that you have arrived in life and how.</p>
<h2>BMW M440i Convertible&nbsp;Exterior Design and Road Presence</h2>
<p>The M440i drop-top is, quite simply, a bit of a stunner. Long, low, and deliciously sleek, it carries itself with the kind of poise that turns casual glances into full-blown stares. Our test car, dipped in a rich shade of red, only amplified the drama, roof up or down. The headlights are sharp, the oversized kidney grille actually works here (yes, really), and the red-over-black combo gives it a properly sporty vibe.</p><p>

From almost any angle, this is a car that makes a compelling case for being an object of desire on four wheels. If you absolutely must nitpick, slightly larger wheels would’ve filled the arches better. But that’s just us being picky for sport.</p>
<h2>BMW M440i Convertible&nbsp;Engine, Performance and 0–100km/h Acceleration</h2>
<p>Floor it at a traffic light, blink twice, and you’re already flirting with triple-digit speeds. The 3.0-litre in-line six turbo pumps out 369bhp and 500Nm, paired to an 8-speed automatic that does its job with quiet efficiency. BMW claims 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds. We clocked 4.94 seconds.</p><p>

    </p><p>On a better surface, it might’ve dipped even lower. Not that you’ll be complaining. What’s impressive is how deceptively quick it feels. It looks fast standing still, but when it actually gets going, it transforms into something borderline theatrical. Effortless high-speed cruising? Check. Blink-and-you’re-in-trouble acceleration? Also check.</p>
<p>Handling, though, is where things get… interesting. This isn’t a point-and-shoot scalpel like the M340i. And that’s okay. The M440i has its own personality. It gets BMW’s M-differential and holds its line well, but quick direction changes reveal its length and weight. You can feel the chassis working, occasionally flexing, reminding you this is more grand tourer than track weapon.</p><p>

    </p><p>And I only refer to the M340i because I had the opportunity to drive both cars back-to-back.&nbsp; Switch off the electronic nannies, though, and things get spicy. The rear steps out with a graceful, almost theatrical flair, like a perfectly timed dance move. It’s rear-biased AWD, after all, and it knows how to have fun.</p>
<h2>BMW M440i Convertible&nbsp;Interior, Features and Convertible Roof Operation</h2>
<p>Step inside, and the M440i keeps things clean, modern, and driver-focused. No unnecessary drama here, just a well-laid-out cabin with room for four… technically. The 14.9-inch curved touchscreen takes centre stage, complemented by a crisp digital driver’s display and a chunky flat-bottomed M steering wheel that feels spot-on in your hands.</p><p>

<p>Prices are yet to be announced, but expect it to land north of ₹1.1 crore (ex-showroom). This isn’t going to be your only car. It’s the one you buy when your needs of practical mobility are already taken care of. As for rivals, the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet is the only real name that comes to mind, priced at ₹1.16 crore (ex-showroom).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The BMW M440i Convertible is one of the few proper drop-tops you can buy in India, and even in that niche club, it stands out. It’s stylish, properly quick, and delivers that wind-in-your-hair experience that never really gets old. Yes, it’s expensive. But what you’re really paying for is the vibe, the presence, and that one-of-a-kind ‘look at me’ energy. You can call it indulgent, extravagant even, but above all, it’s undeniably irresistible.</p><p>

<p>BMW has pulled the covers off the updated 7 Series, and it is far more than a design refresh. While production kicks off this July, the real story lies beneath the sheet metal. The split headlamp setup remains, but the DRLs are now slimmer and sit higher, while the main lamps stay vertically stacked. The front bumper gets a cleaner layout and the bonnet lines look sharper than before. The illuminated kidney grille is still a talking point, now with horizontal slats replacing the older vertical pattern.</p><p>

The new Panoramic iDrive adds a full-width display strip at the base of the windscreen, working alongside a 17.9-inch central touchscreen and a 14.6-inch passenger display. Everything runs on BMW Operating System X, bringing over-the-air updates, sharper navigation and quicker voice responses.</p><p>

Put it all together, and this cabin feels more like a private lounge than a traditional flagship sedan interior.</p><h2><strong>2027 BMW 7 Series: Powertrain</strong></h2><p>BMW is offering a range of powertrains to suit different markets and driving preferences. The 740 xDrive petrol uses a 3.0-litre inline-six with a 48V mild-hybrid system, producing 406bhp and 580Nm. The 740d xDrive diesel produces 317bhp and 670Nm using the same mild-hybrid setup. Both deliver strong mid-range performance, which suits the character of a car in this class.</p><p>

The 750e produces 496bhp and 700Nm with a WLTP electric-only range of 70–82km, while the M760e develops 620bhp and 800Nm with a WLTP electric range of up to 80km. Both use an 18.7kWh net battery with AC charging of up to 11kW, meaning most city runs can be completed in silence before the combustion engine needs to contribute.</p><p>On the electric side, the BMW i7 range continues with a 112.5kWh battery and DC fast charging of up to 250kW across all variants. The i7 50 xDrive delivers 461bhp and 660Nm with a WLTP range of up to 728km. The i7 60 xDrive pushes output to 551bhp and 745Nm with a WLTP range of up to 727km.</p><p>At the top of the range, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/bmw/i7/">i7</a> M70 xDrive brings 689bhp and up to 1,100Nm, and for a car of this size, those numbers translate into performance that sits well above segment expectations. Depending on specification, the M70 xDrive offers a WLTP range of between 566km and 686km, so usability is not sacrificed for outright performance.</p><p><img src="https://images.autox.com/uploads/2026/04/2027-BMW-7-Series-Rear-1776923461040.webp" alt="2027 BMW 7 Series Rear.png" style="width: 100%; height: auto;"></p><p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/bmw/">BMW</a> has also updated the driver assistance systems. Park Assist is fitted as standard. </p><p>The chassis retains adaptive air suspension and electronically controlled dampers as standard, with optional rear-wheel steering available for improved manoeuvrability at lower speeds</p><p>This is not a routine facelift. The updated 7 Series shows the direction BMW is heading, leaning into technology without losing sight of the driving side of things. More screens, more powertrain choice and more performance, but the core brief remains the same: a flagship that works equally well whether you are driving it or being driven.<br><br></p>

BMW’s aggressive product strategy for India remained one of the strong highlights. Q1 saw four key new launches, such as the BMW M2 CS, BMW X3 30, BMW M 1000 R, and the Mini Cooper S Victory&nbsp;Edition. BMW is set to maintain momentum with eight more launches in Q2. In total, the brand has planned to launch 27 products this year.</p><h2>BMW SUVs, LWBs, and EVs</h2><p>The Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) range was a key contributor to the brand’s success in Q1,  registering a strong 38% year-on-year growth with 2,966 units sold. BMW also confirmed that SUVs accounted&nbsp;for 65% of its total car sales in India. In Q1, BMW sold 2,256 long wheelbase cars, representing a growth of&nbsp;23% compared to last year. It launched models such as the Mini Convertible, Countryman JCW ALL4, and the all-electric Countryman SE ALL4 during the period.</p><h2>BMW Motorrad</h2><p>BMW Motorrad sold 1,216 motorcycles. It is based on the second-generation M2, and has four colour options: Brooklyn Grey,&nbsp;Portimao Blue, Black Sapphire, and BMW Individual Velvet Blue. The new CS has cemented its position among the fastest&nbsp;and most exclusive compact performance cars currently on sale in India, with a Nürburgring&nbsp;lap time of 7:25.5 minutes. Here’s a closer look at this hardcore, track-focused M2 in detail.</p><h2><strong>BMW M2 CS: Exterior</strong></h2><p>The CS version of the M2 set itself apart with a slightly revised grille (with enlarged air inlets), a matte-black front splitter, gold-finished forged alloys (19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear), and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres (track tyres available as an option). The model also comes equipped with  Adaptive LED headlights, an M Compound braking system with red callipers, and an optional carbon ceramic setup,&nbsp;a red-accented ‘M2 CS’ badge, an integrated ducktail spoiler at the rear, and a quad-exhaust&nbsp;setup in matte black. On 1 April 2025, BMW posted a digital image of a GT3-style wagon as a joke. Instead of laughing, the public demand crossed one million impressions. The M3 Touring 24H is based on the M4 GT3 EVO and utilises the P58 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six engine. Compared to the M4 GT3, this car is 200mm longer and 32mm taller, creating unique airflow challenges. Despite the increased dimensions and the boxy rear, BMW reports that performance data matches the GT3 coupe, suggesting the extra boot space has not compromised the lap times.</p><p>
