Hero Xpulse 200 Highlights
The Xpulse 200 – an off-road intended dirt bike – was unveiled as a concept back in EICMA 2017. Today, Xpulse 200 is the most affordable adventure tourer in the country. How is this a dirt bike? A complete look at the bike and the high-set ground clearance, knuckle protectors, metal bash plate, wire-spoked wheels, multi-terrain tyres, higher suspension travel and side-mounted exhaust proclaim the off-road intentions of the Xpulse 200. Another area where the Xpulse 200 proves its worth is the long equipment list, which includes a fully digital instrument cluster, LED lighting and single-channel ABS as standard across the range.
The Xpulse 200 is an off-road motorcycle with a bare-bones design. The design of the Xpulse 200 favours functions over styling. The Xpulse 200 may not be comfortable for shorter riders, the reason being 2,223mm of length, 850mm of width and 1,257mm of height. The bike has a high ground clearance of 220mm and it weighs 153kg. The fuel tank can take a maximum of 13-litres.
Engine & Transmission
The Hero Xpulse 200 features a 200cc single-cylinder air-cooled mill that churns out 18.1bhp of power and 17.1Nm of torque. The motor is refined, with a strong low-end and mid-range punch. The five-speed gearbox is smooth and precise in its operation. In case of its fuel efficiency, the Hero Xpulse 200 mileage is expected to be around 40km/l.
The Hero Xpulse 200 is a decent bike to ride on the tarmac. However, off-roading is a different experience altogether, the chassis balance inspires you to push it harder on obstacles. It is built around a diamond frame while the suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a 10-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. The stopping bite comes from to a 276mm disc at the front as well as the rear. The 90/90-21 section tyre at the front and a smaller 120/80-18 section tyre at the rear provide ample grip and confidence while tackling off-road obstacles.
The Hero Xpulse 200 new model comes with a fully digital instrument cluster with added Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. The electricals constitute an LED headlamp at the front and an LED tail lamp at the back. In terms of safety, single-channel ABS is part of the equipment list.
