The Honda NX500 is a mid-weight adventure touring bike that is slated to come soon with some upgrades and updates. It is sure to have the bolder adventure-ready character, perhaps, with some updates on performance, design, and touring-friendly features. The model had earlier replaced the CB500X moniker globally. Let’s now see what else is going to change in this upcoming Honda motorcycle.
The 2026 Honda NX500 is expected to feature the same 471cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that powers the current iteration. It is likely to deliver around 47bhp of power and 43 Nm of torque, and an exceptional fuel efficiency of around 25-27 km/l. The engine shall be mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch. The slipper clutch ensures smooth shifts and reduced wheel hop under deceleration. A slight ECU mapping could be done to ensure improved mid-range performance.
This Honda bike shall come with a diamond-type steel frame, which is good at balancing stiffness and flexibility. It is expected to feature a new Showa 41mm SFF-BP upside-down front fork and a rear monoshock with adjustable preload. These upgrades should provide enhanced control on rough terrains and improved comfort for touring. The bike is likely to roll on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, sporting dual-purpose tyres. Stopping power shall come from dual front discs and a single rear disc, paired with dual-channel ABS.
This upcoming bike will most probably have no or slight changes in the dimensions. Expect a wheelbase of around 1447 mm, a seat height of approximately 830 mm, and a kerb weight close to 196 kg. Its fuel tank capacity could remain at 17.5 litres, and Ground clearance is expected to be around 181mm.
The available pictures suggest that the 2026 NX500 adopts a more rugged and aerodynamic design inspired by Honda’s larger adventure bikes. It features a redesigned LED headlamp cluster, taller windscreen, and sharper fairing lines, lending it a purposeful ADV profile. The sculpted fuel tank with extended shrouds, integrated hand guards, and a split-seat layout are also visible.
The NX500 is expected to pack modern technology and rider-centric equipment. Its expected features include:
The Honda NX500 2026 is expected to make its global debut in May 2026, with an India launch following soon after. It is likely to be priced around ₹6.5–6.80 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing, if true, would make it a strong competitor to the Kawasaki Versys 650, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and the Benelli TRK 502.
