The last update to the Yezdi Adventure, in August of last year, brought a mix of subtle design adjustments and technical enhancements.

<p>I have had the pleasure of riding various motorcycles – big and small – on a number of race tracks. However, I had never ridden a classic cruiser or an ADV on the track – until Classic Legends called us to NATRAX, Indore, to experience their offerings, that is. They had motorcycles from all three of their brands – Jawa, Yezdi, and BSA. Our playing ground was the two-wheeler handling track – a circuit composed of a few fast straights, some very technical turns, and lots of elevation changes.</p>

My first ride was on the Yezdi Adventure – an unusual choice, I know. But I was curious to see how this off-road ADV would perform on the track. Initially, I focused on learning the layout and figuring out my braking markers, for I was riding on this particular track for the first time. While the bike was decently fun, I found its braking performance lacking for the track.</p>



<p>Next, I hopped onto the BSA Gold Star. I wasn’t expecting much from this laid-back cruiser, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well its gearing suited the track. I could stay in third or fourth gear for the most part without worrying about the revs dropping too low. The bike’s strong low-end grunt helped it pick up pace quickly without requiring a downshift. The Pirelli rubber provided excellent grip, allowing me to explore the track even more. My only concern was the rear hopping under heavy braking.</p>

<p>My next machine was the Jawa 42. The first thing that hit me was how much lighter it felt in comparison to the Gold Star. Manoeuvring it around the track required much less effort, making it a more agile machine. However, the limiting factor of this bike was the wooden feel of the front brake and the short gearing. I found myself constantly shuffling through the six-speed unit.</p>

<p>Given the way the batches were scheduled, I ended up riding the 42 FJ last. As luck would have it, I had unknowingly saved the best for last. The FJ was light enough to be easily flickable between corners and yet had significantly better brakes than the regular 42. I was able to throw it around corners with more confidence. Plus, the slip and assist clutch made rapid downshifts effortless. Even as I went from around 110km/h to around 40km/h in just a few meters, the rear stayed composed, never stepping out of line. Of all the bikes I rode, the 42 FJ felt like the sportiest and best suited to my riding style.</p><p>

<p>I’ll admit that I wasn’t pushing these bikes to their absolute limits for the simple reason that this wasn’t a dedicated race track with a lot of run-off areas. But let’s not forget that most of these machines are designed more for aesthetics and relaxed riding than outright performance and handling. So, the fact that I could barrel into a corner, brake at the last moment, and still make it through smoothly speaks volumes about their capabilities. After the whole experience, I also realised that pushing bikes out of their comfort zone isn’t just fun but also enlightening. Who would have thought that the 201kg Gold Star would feel so at home on a technical track?

<h2>2024 Yezdi Adventure First Ride Review: Design and Features</h2>

<p>While the design of the Yezdi Adventure remains largely intact, there have been changes made to certain components which help not only with styling but functionality, too. First and foremost, you get a slimmer tank profile and even the frame of the motorcycle has been made more compact. This has been done in order to ensure better ergonomics for the rider while in the sitting or standing riding position. To aid the improved ergonomics, Yezdi has also worked on improving the seat comfort. Which, in my opinion, was quite supple and soft, yet firm enough to not cause problems for longer Ride durations. Next, you also get a redesigned crash bar, which has been made 3.6kg lighter than the one in the previous version.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Since the new Yezdi Adventure features the new and improved liquid-cooled Alpha 2 engine, the company has also opted for a slimmer but better oil cooler. Not just that, you now get a redesigned exhaust routing which has been done to improve exhaust flow and improve thermal efficiency. However, while all these changes have added to the weight, the Yezdi Adventure is now a kilogram lighter than the outgoing model in its total weight.</p>

<p>On the features front, the biggest change that the 2024 Yezdi Adventure now gets is the addition of Bluetooth connectivity for your smartphone on the TFT cluster. This now only adds telephone connectivity to the features list but also the ability to display turn-by-turn navigation. The next highlight of the new Adventure comes in the form of a fly-by-wire throttle system which has enabled Yezdi to offer three ride modes - Road, Rain and Offroad. Other than this, the list of niceties remains largely intact. Highlights include dual USB chargers (Type-A &amp; Type-C), all-LED lighting, tilt-able TFT screen for offroad use, three ABS modes and slip-and-assist clutch.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>2024 Yezdi Adventure First Ride Review: Specifications &amp; On-Road Performance&nbsp;</h2>

<p>Now, it's time to get to the meat of the matter and the Yezdi Adventure does deliver on that front. You now get an improved Alpha 2 engine which has really reinvigorated the entire experience. It is still a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder unit but brings in changes in the form of performance and efficiency. In terms of numbers, the updated motor now benches out 29.6bhp and 29.8Nm of peak torque. The company mentions the changes which they have made not only improves low and mid-end punch from this motor but they have done a great deal to improve the mechanical clatter which was prevalent in the outgoing model.</p>

<p>As soon as you start riding, the first thing you notice is how much smoother and quieter the motor has gotten. The 2024 Adventure gets a lighter, updated crankshaft which has helped get rid of the vibrations and even given this bike a better get-up-and-go ability. There is a hint of delay in the throttle input as soon as you start to twist the throttle but it becomes responsive once you start moving. The engine also feels like it has a much broader powerband than before. During our ride, we had a chance to sample the bike on one and two lane roads, and it had plenty of grunt to keep up with your shenanigans on both.</p>

<p>Mated to the new Alpha 2 engine is a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. Another reason why the performance of the new Adventure felt so diverse is the fact that the company has now individually mapped the performance from each gear. So, first, second and third gear have been tailor-made to tackle slow-speed and offroad situations. While, third, fourth and fifth are made to suit highway and high-speed scenarios. Basically, it felt grunty in the first three gears and relaxed when you go into higher gears.</p>

<h2>2024 Yezdi Adventure First Ride Review: Handling &amp; Offroad Performance&nbsp;</h2>

<p>In terms of tyres and suspension hardware, the 2024 Yezdi Adventure carries over parts from the outgoing model. However, the suspension tuning has been returned to quite an extent in order to improve performance across all scenarios. It felt pretty light and maneuverable, and a large part of the confidence it inspires is because I felt it had a lower centre of gravity compared to the Himalayan and the previous model, too. While the handling was exciting on tarmac, where it truly shined was offroad.</p>

<p>Now, most of our testing during this event was at the Prodirt Adventure park in Pune. Here, we dealt with muddy offroad trails and a flowing dirt track to do our testing. When we got it out on the trails, it was easy to stand and the bars fell perfectly to my feet. Thanks to the compact frame, it was also easier to gain full control with the lower legs. The suspension now does a much better job at dealing with offroad obstacles compared to the previous model. We could easily touch speeds of up to 60-70km/h on trails filled with muddy ruts, rock beds and off-camber elevation changes. It was predictable and I really knew what my front or rear tyre was doing at all times. I started having so much fun that I actually lost track of time and my cameraman.</p>

<h2>2024 Yezdi Adventure First Ride Review: Verdict</h2>

<p>If we were to forget about segment rivalry for just a second, I actually ended up liking the 2024 Yezdi Adventure quite a bit. It's offroad prowess has a lot to do with that but it has improved in other areas too. Yes, it is not as powerful and feature-loaded as the Himalayan or Adventure 390 but then, the price reflects that. At 2.10 lakh (ex-showroom), I feel the Yezdi Adventure manages to hold its own in this segment. The Himalayan is a good Rs 70,000 above its price point and anything below falls behind in power and performance. It is genuinely a good ADV candidate for anyone with a budget around the Rs 2 lakh mark.</p>

<p>The updated bike gains&nbsp;new colour options&nbsp;in the form of Tornado Black,&nbsp;Magnite Maroon, Glacier White, and&nbsp;Wolf Grey. The former two paint jobs are more expensive than the latter ones.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>New Yezdi Adventure: Design and Features</h2>

<p>Comparing the 2024 Yezdi Adventure to its larger&nbsp;predecessor, it has a more streamlined profile. Furthermore, the bike has slimmer tank rails with an "ESTD&nbsp;69" sticker&nbsp;but still has its classic LED headlight and indicators. The&nbsp;revised appearance of the model is complemented by&nbsp;slight modifications made to the iconic Yezdi grille, which&nbsp;now seems more seamlessly incorporated into the general layout, adding to the Adventure's tough yet contemporary charm. The fuel tank&nbsp;sports updated graphics. The TFT instrument cluster, which has replaced the old unit, is a notable feature. Other features include multiple ride modes, USB charger, Bluetooth connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation.</p>

<h2>New Yezdi Adventure: Mechanical Updates</h2>

<p>In addition to aesthetic modifications, there are minor&nbsp;mechanical ones. A 334cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, producing 29.68bhp of maximum power&nbsp;and 29.84Nm of peak torque&nbsp;powers the bike.&nbsp;The bikemaker&nbsp;refers to it as the Alpha2 engine and claims that compared to the previous bike, it is more refined and durable.&nbsp;This unit&nbsp;is mated to a six-speed gearbox.</p>

<p>However, there is a significant change in the new exhaust pipe and its routing.&nbsp;The redesigned exhaust pipe header travels from beneath the engine to the back of the exhaust, in contrast to the previous bike's design where the exhaust pipe ran down the side of the engine.&nbsp;As a result, the coolant reservoir has been relocated&nbsp;behind the airbox from the space behind the sump guard.&nbsp;Though the sump guard is new and covers the engine more thoroughly than the previous one, the suspension setup, wheels, and tyres remain the same.</p>

<p>The Yezdi Adventure is positioned as a competitive option in the segment with its aggressive price approach and new colour options. Its main rivals are the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/ktm/390-adventure/">KTM 390 Adventure</a> and the soon-to-be-launched&nbsp;<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/royal-enfield/himalayan-450/">Royal Enfield Himalayan 450</a>. Additionally, the Adventure undercuts&nbsp;competitors like the Hero XPulse 200 and Honda CB200X.</p>

2024 Yezdi Adventure launched in India, and several cosmetic and mechanical improvements were made to better compete with popular market rivals.

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/yezdi/">Yezdi Motorcycles</a> is now available with the Trail Pack&nbsp;as standard. The Trail Pack, which costs Rs 16,000, is being offered at no extra cost to the customers. The only catch is that it will be available for a limited period only.&nbsp;The standard&nbsp;Trail Pack consists of six adventure and touring-friendly accessories including a visor kit, headlamp grille, backrest, crash guard, bike cover, and saddle bags.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The rest of the hardware remains the same as before. In September 2023, Yezdi gave the Roadster&nbsp;cosmetic and ergonomic upgrades. The latter includes a taller handlebar and more forward-set foot pegs, while the former includes a sportier-looking knee recess, diamond-cut alloy wheels,&nbsp;handlebar-mounted mirrors, new&nbsp;handlebar grips, and a&nbsp;Raven texture treatment on the engine and exhaust.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The&nbsp;Yezdi Roadster continues to use a&nbsp;334cc, liquid-cooled engine mated to a&nbsp;six-speed gearbox. The engine is tuned to produce&nbsp;29bhp and 28.9Nm of peak torque. Hardware-wise, the bike boasts a double&nbsp;cradle frame, suspended by&nbsp;telescopic forks at the front and dual shocks at the rear.</p>

<p>The Roadster gets disc brakes at both ends and comes with a dual-channel anti-locking braking system. It tips the scale at 194kg (kerb) and has a fuel tank capacity of 12.5 litres. It rolls on an&nbsp;18-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel, both shod with tubeless tyres.</p>

<p>In terms of features, the Roadster gets full-LED lighting and a digital instrument cluster. The motorcycle, however, misses out on multi-level ABS and USB charging which comes as standard on the Scrambler and the Adventure.&nbsp;</p>
