The 2026 Honda CB750 comes with an optional E-Clutch, new dual-tone colours, the same 755cc engine and added tech features for daily use.

<p>I am at a stage in life when a phone call from friends or family means one of two things - either an invitation to a major life event or news of someone’s passing. In such moments, what you need is quiet reliability. And that’s exactly what the Honda Elevate offered - not excellence, but presence.</p>
<p>The Elevate we have is the Signature Black Edition, a variant that looks purposeful but not particularly special. The ‘Black Edition’ emblem on the tailgate and ‘Signature Edition’ badge on the front fender feel like afterthoughts rather than neatly integrated touches. Still, the tall bonnet, massive grille, and sharply cut LED headlamps lend it a confident stance. Other drivers tend to make way without the need for aggressive honking or light flashing - always a welcome trait on Indian roads.</p>
<p>Inside, the spacious cabin proved to be one of the Elevate’s highlights. A recent long drive from Chandigarh to Delhi reaffirmed how roomy and comfortable it feels, with ample headroom and legroom for all passengers. The boot, too, is impressively accommodating - easily swallowing a large suitcase, three cabin bags, and two office backpacks.</p>
<p>The drive experience, however, leaves much to be desired. The 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine feels underpowered and, surprisingly for a Honda, quite noisy. You really have to wring it out to maintain expressway speeds, which gets tiring over time. The vague and notchy gearshifts only add to the frustration, especially in city traffic, where low-speed pickup feels lethargic and you’re constantly rowing through gears.</p><p>
  Ride comfort is acceptable on smooth stretches, but sharp bumps unsettle the rear, which tends to bounce about - not ideal for passengers with sensitive backs. The ADAS suite works well in most cases, offering gentle steering and braking assistance. But in tight city lanes, it can be overly sensitive - even a pedestrian’s sudden flinch can trigger an emergency stop.<br>
  The ‘rhythmic’ ambient lighting with seven selectable colours sounds interesting on paper, but the execution feels cheap. Brightness can’t be adjusted, and the control module is oddly positioned on the dashboard beside the steering column - another afterthought.</p>
<p>One curious observation: after a spell of rain, water pooled on the contoured bonnet and stayed put even at 100km/h. It’s worth keeping an eye out for, as standing water could cause rust over time.</p><p>
  In the end, the Elevate isn’t about flair or excitement. It’s about quiet dependability - a car that doesn’t excel in any one area but never lets you down either. Like a true friend, it’s there when you need it most, and now it’s heading into the next chapter with Shivank, who’s taking it on a road trip to the hills. Honda Elevate Long Term Report: Month 1 - A Friend Indeed

In a month of living with the Honda Elevate, its greatest strength has become clear: not performance or flair, but the kind of quiet reliability you can count on without question.

    The latest entrant in the 125cc motorcycle segment, the Honda CB 125 Hornet, is already creating quite a buzz (pun fully intended). In a space crowded with sensible commuters, the Hornet stands out as a 125cc motorcycle with real street presence and a proper attitude.</p>

<p>Visually, the CB 125 Hornet is a stunner. It takes design inspirations from its bigger Hornet siblings. Its sharp lines, muscular bodywork, and a purposeful stance can easily make you mistake it for a 200cc or even a 250cc machine. The gold-anodised USD fork, sculpted fuel tank, contoured seat, and compact tail section further add to its premium appeal. The paint finish and build quality are top-notch – easily among the best we’ve seen from Honda in recent years. <p>Powering the CB 125 Hornet is a 124cc single-cylinder engine, which produces 11bhp and 11.2Nm of torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. On paper, these numbers may seem underwhelming, but on the road, the bike feels peppy, smooth, and responsive – exactly what you’d expect from an smart urban commuter. The throttle response is crisp, and the engine revs cleanly, making city commutes effortless and fun. At 124kg, the Hornet is light, agile, and quite flickable, making negotiating traffic or tight corners an easy affair.</p>

<p>During the timing runs at the BIC, the Hornet surprised us all by holding its own. It managed a lap time of 1:28.0, even edging out the more powerful Kawasaki KLX230 – an impressive feat for a 125cc commuter. Sure, it’s not built for the track, but it exhibited impressive poise, balance, and composure that exceeded expectations. The brakes are good enough to inspire confidence, and the chassis is tight and predictable, encouraging you to push harder. The CB 125 Hornet is going to shake things up in the sporty 125 cc commuter space, taking the fight to the likes of the TVS Raider 125 and the Hero Xtreme 125R, both of which have done well in the Indian market. A 125 cc commuter showdown then is just what the doctor ordered. Time to make a few calls, then.</p>

<p>In the real world, all this means a motorcycle that’s not only fun to ride but also comfortable and practical. So, if you want a commuter that looks stylishly sharp, feels premium, and is relatively easy on the pocket, the CB Hornet 125 is the one to beat.

Honda CB 125 Hornet Wins Bike of the Year - autoX Awards 2025

Visually, the Honda CB 125 Hornet is a stunner. Its sharp lines, muscular bodywork, and a purposeful stance can easily make you mistake it for a 200cc or even a 250cc machine.

    The Activa is a well-known name in the scooter market, and deservedly so. After all, it has shattered various sales records for Honda. So, when Honda decided to launch an electric version of the Activa – the Activa e – we expected it to deliver on all fronts. However, that was not the case. It looks smart, feels solid, and oozes brilliant quality just like other Honda products, but beyond that, things begin to feel rather underwhelming.</p>

<p>The Activa e comes with two swappable batteries, which are designed well, and don’t weigh a lot. However, the problem is that they can’t be charged at home – there is no way to plug in and charge the scooter or the batteries. Now, considering the Activa e is not what you’d call a competitively priced offering, the added battery subscription makes things worse. Had it been priced close to ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom), the value equation would have made more sense.</p>

<p>The swappable battery setup also eats into the very thing most scooter buyers care about – storage. The under-seat storage space is minimal, leaving little room for storing everyday items. The suspension is also disappointing – it feels overly stiff for everyday city riding. And the odd weight distribution also makes it feel a bit nervous around corners. <p>On the plus side, its 7-inch digital instrument cluster is one of its best features. It’s not a touchscreen, but that’s not a problem at all, given how smooth and responsive its interface is. The buttons on the handlebar are also quite intuitive. The unit displays a wealth of information without cluttering the screen. The Activa e also comes with keyless operation, which is a nice touch; however, it’s more of a novelty than a real advantage.

Honda Activa e at autoX Awards: Best Bikes of 2025 Ranked

The Honda Activa e's 7-inch digital instrument cluster is one of its best features. It’s not a touchscreen, but that’s not a problem at all, given how smooth and responsive its interface is.

<p>Honda showcased its first-ever electric motorcycle at EICMA: the WN7 (Wind Naked 7). The first full-production,&nbsp;full-size electric motorcycle marks a major step in the company’s global shift toward electric mobility under its new EV branding. It features a compact, liquid-cooled electric&nbsp;motor with an integrated inverter, a frameless chassis, and a horizontal&nbsp;LED light bar (a feature that will be the identity of Honda's future e-bikes going forward). <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/honda/">Honda</a> will introduce its&nbsp;full-size electric flagship&nbsp;in a phased manner across select global markets.&nbsp;There is no official confirmation, but the WN7 is unlikely to arrive in India.&nbsp;</p><h2><strong>Honda WN7: Motor, Performance, and Charging</strong></h2><p>The WN7 packs a compact, liquid-cooled electric motor with an integrated inverter. The top 18 kW version produces 50kW (about 67bhp) and 100Nm. Both the front head pipe and rear pivot bracket&nbsp;connect directly to this power unit, reducing weight and allowing a more compact design. With the battery mounted at the center, the bike gains concentrated mass and agile, precise handling.</p><p>The Honda WN7 comes fitted with premium hardware and rider-focused features. Up front, there’s a 43mm Showa USD fork, while the rear has a monoshock. <p>Japanese motorcycle giant Honda showcased a bunch of products at EICMA 2025, but the model that&nbsp;truly stole the spotlight was the all-new CB1000GT. Built on the robust and proven platform of the flagship CB1000 Hornet,&nbsp;the CB1000GT adds a mix of performance and touring comfort to Honda’s premium lineup. In India, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/honda/">Honda</a> already made headlines earlier this year by launching the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/honda/cb1000-hornet/">CB1000 Hornet SP</a> at a price of Rs 12.36 lakh (ex-showroom) in May 2025, paving the way for more high-performance models like the CB1000GT. Let's take a closer look&nbsp;at the brand-new offering from Honda,&nbsp;which combines sportbike aggression with true touring comfort and capability.</p><h2><strong>Honda CB1000GT: Design</strong></h2><p>The CB1000GT focuses on both aerodynamic&nbsp;efficiency and rider-focused comfort. The sharply angled front fairing directs airflow smoothly around the rider, while the contoured&nbsp;side panels and integrated pannier mounts add to the clean and&nbsp;purposeful stance. <p><em><strong>The Amaze has been a tremendous success for Honda in the sub-4m segment. And now it has received a visual facelift and some extra equipment. But is that enough?</strong></em></p>

<p>In the incredibly competitive Indian automotive market, the Amaze has been one of Honda’s greatest successes. And there are many reasons for it, including the blue-chip reputation of Honda and the fact that the Amaze offered a refreshing, honest package to Indian customers. Also, without unnecessary frills, the Amaze offered a good amount of interior space, a large boot, enough standard features to match its competitors and frugal engines in both diesel and petrol models. And the low running cost of the Amaze – both in terms of fuel efficiency and service costs – further made it a popular choice amongst Indian customers.<br />

Now, with competition getting intense in the segment, the Amaze has received a minor nip and tuck, which gives it a new face and some additional equipment. We drove the petrol automatic variant of the refreshed Amaze to see if the changes offer a significant upgrade for customers, and here is what we think…</p>

<p><strong>New Moustache</strong>&nbsp;</p>

<p>One of the things that I didn’t like about the old Amaze was that it had a face only a mother could love. I am serious – I always thought that its pointed chrome nose was very polarising. Now, even in the facelift, the Amaze has not lost the chrome nose; however, the combination of some styling changes and the fact that we have become acclimatised to seeing the chrome nose on the road makes the facelifted version look a lot more balanced. Both the front and rear bumpers have also been restyled, and so have been the headlights and taillights, which are LEDs in the top-of-the-line VX trim (the one we drove). In terms of design, the other big change is 15-inch alloy wheels, which you may find familiar, for the last-generation City had the same wheels. Interestingly, the styling changes are restricted to the S and VX trims of the Amaze – the base E variant looks the same as the earlier car. According to Honda, the reason is the popularity of the E variant in rural areas and small towns. I, however, think that by doing so <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/honda/" target="_blank">Honda</a> can keep the entry price of the Amaze affordable to attract a wide range of customers.</p>

<p><strong>New Bottle, Old Wine</strong></p>

<p>As the Amaze has not seen any mechanical changes, its driving experience remains unchanged. This means that you get a refined petrol engine, paired with a slick manual and a typical CVT. Sure, the CVT has the rubber-band effect, which is endemic to all CVTs, but with its lightweight and decent power levels, the Amaze is pleasing to drive. In fact, in a world increasingly dominated by cars that feel unengaging and synthetic, the Amaze still has a mechanical feel to it, which is a refreshing and pleasing experience. If there is an aspect of the Amaze that needs improvement, I would say it’s the suspension tuning. While it’s perfectly fine on smooth roads and highways, it tends to lose its composure on broken roads. And I think the car could certainly benefit from upgraded dampers in terms of better cushioning.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Practicality</strong></p>

<p>One of the hallmarks of the Amaze has always been its space management, and the facelifted model is no exception, thanks to the excellent platform. Despite being under four metres in length, the Amaze feels spacious and has ample legroom and shoulder room. The only place it struggles is in the width department. This means that five full-size adults will be a squeeze. The rear floor tunnel also doesn’t help in this aspect. It’s better suited for four full-size adults. The under-thigh support of the front seats could do with some improvement – the seat squab feels too small, and the added support would certainly help make them more comfortable.</p>

<p>The other quibble that I have with the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/honda/amaze/" target="_blank">Amaze</a> is not unique to it – in fact, it’s common to all Honda models in India. Yup, you guessed it, I am talking about the resolution of the multimedia screen, which is most certainly not up to scratch – in direct sunlight, the screen fades away and is barely legible. Similarly, the rear-view camera’s resolution can do with significant improvement. It reminds me of the 2MP camera of my old Nokia phone – not a happy memory indeed. In today’s connected world, I think these are urgently needed upgrades on virtually all cars that Honda sells in India.</p>

<p>On the plus side, the air-conditioning system deserves a special mention, for it is so effective that it made me freeze even when it was set at 24 degrees during the drive – I had to set the temperature to 26 degrees to stop my hands from freezing on the steering wheel!</p>

<p><strong>The Money Question</strong>&nbsp;</p>

<p>There is little doubt that the value of a car is one of the paramount requirements in the Indian market. And here, the Amaze presents an interesting conundrum. You see, the petrol variants of the car – which are priced between ₹7.16 and 9.05 lakh (the S and VX trims; the non-upgraded E trim costs ₹6.32 lakh) – offer pretty good value. With twin airbags and ABS as standard, along with LED headlights and tail lamps, amongst other features, the petrol variants of the Amaze are very well priced. Pair this with an honest machine that drives well and is exceedingly practical and cheap to maintain, and you’ll know the reason for the immense popularity of the Amaze.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The pricing of the diesel variants, though, is challenging to accept, for they cost over ₹2 lakh more than their comparable petrol variants. Sure, I understand the extra power and fuel efficiency of the diesel engine, but you’d have to drive north of 40,000 kilometres in a year to recover the premium that the diesel variants demand. This means that unless you want to use it as a commercial vehicle, the diesel variant doesn’t make financial sense, at least, not for 99% of customers.<br />
&nbsp;<br />
But the petrol-diesel price difference aside, the Amaze continues to be an honest, competitive product, which deserves your attention, if you’re looking for a sub-4 metre <a href="https://www.autox.com/sedan-cars-in-india/" target="_blank">sedan</a>, that is. &nbsp;</p>
