Not enough power

<p>I was a little late to buy the F-PACE as by the time I purchased mine, the 3.0-litre R-SPORT variant had been discontinued and only the CKD 2.0-litre Prestige variant was up for grabs. While the features and styling are good enough on the mid variant, it’s the engine which makes all the difference. The car feels under-powered due to just 178bhp output.</p>

<p>The Jaguar E-Type, produced from 1961 to 1974, remains one of the most iconic classic cars in automotive history. Inspired by Jaguar’s Le Mans-winning D-Type race car, the E-Type Series 1 originally featured a 3.8-litre inline-six engine, later upgraded to 4.2 litres. Despite its stunning looks and motorsport heritage, many believed the E-Type deserved a V12 engine. Well, the folks at ECD Automotive Design have certainly made that wish come true.</p><p>The design firm has created a E-Type Series 1 with a original Jaguar V12 engine that puts out 400bhp.This restomod. The upgraded E-Type not only honours its racing roots but also adds new appeal for collectors and fans of vintage British sports cars.</p><p>Elliot Humble, ECD’s Chief Technical Officer, said: 'This car pushed the limits of what’s possible when blending three generations of E-Type architecture. Series I body, Series II chassis, Series III power — every part was reconsidered, refined, and reengineered to work in harmony.'</p><p>'This wasn’t just a technical challenge,” he added. “It was a reward. Because once it all came together, and we rolled it out for the first time, we knew this was something the world had never seen — and might never see again.'</p><h2>More About ECD Jaguar E-Type GTO</h2><p>This Jaguar E-Type restomod is finished in Metallic British Racing Green, a classic shade with a modern twist. As mentioned before, it houses a rebuilt Jaguar V12 engine by Team CJ in Texas, paired with ECD’s custom fuel injection and cooling systems. Built on a Series II chassis and powered by a Series III engine, the car uses a custom cradle and axle for smooth power delivery.</p><p>

Jaguar has offered a glimpse of its upcoming Design Vision Concept, which will make its formal premiere on December 2 during Miami Art Week. This comes after the brand introduced its new logo and brand identity.

<p>Jaguar is undergoing a significant transformation, positioning itself as a high-end, all-electric luxury brand. This shift is highlighted by the introduction of new logos, leading up to the release of the Jaguar Design Vision concept car. Aiming to compete with British luxury brands like Bentley and Rolls-Royce, Jaguar’s rebranding is guided by a philosophy focused on exuberance, modernism, and compelling design. These changes signal a break from the past and the beginning of a new chapter. The Jaguar Design Vision concept will offer a preview of the brand's electric future, featuring innovative design and technology. As Jaguar moves forward, it seeks to redefine luxury and performance.</p>

<h2>New Style</h2>

<p>Jaguar's new brand identity includes four main elements: two logos, a typeface, a colour palette, and a graphic code called "strikethrough." The typeface, referred to as a "device mark," combines uppercase and lowercase letters to spell out "Jaguar." It is displayed in gold on a white background with horizontally aligned rectangles.</p>

<p>The background is an example of the "strikethrough" graphic code, which consists of horizontal lines within a rectangular frame. The "strikethrough" also appears in the redesigned "leaper" logo, an updated version of the jaguar mascot. The new "leaper" logo presents a more angular representation of the pouncing cat.</p>

<p>The jaguar face logo, which has been used on the grilles of Jaguar cars for the past two decades, is replaced by a new circular badge. The emblem features the letters ‘J’ and ‘r’ in brass within a circle, linked by a curved border.&nbsp;The logos are complemented by a new colour palette, based on primary colours—red, blue, and yellow—that reflect the value of ‘exuberance’.</p>

<h2>The Jaguar EV</h2>

<p>Jaguar has not yet revealed how its new logos will appear on future cars, but more details will come when the automaker shows a "design vision" concept car at Miami Art Week on December 2. The concept will give a first look at the first car in Jaguar's updated lineup, which started public road testing last week, with teaser images of an electric four-door grand tourer in camouflage.</p>

These two new Jaguar E-Types were created by JLR's Works Bespoke division for a special customer in Southeast Asia. The cars are painted in Signet Green and Opal Black, colours inspired by the final versions of the Series 3 E-Type from 1974. Inside, the luxurious leather seats feature a unique woven pattern, a first for Jaguar Classic. These bespoke E-Types showcase the timeless elegance and performance of the original E-Type, making them highly sought-after by collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.</p>

<p>Chief Commercial Officer Lennard Hoornik said: 'With E‑type Commemorative, our Classic team set out to improve on an already near‑perfect design. Jaguar’s Classics division has unveiled two exquisitely crafted E-Type models, the result of thousands of hours of expert craftsmanship.

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/jaguar/">Jaguar India</a>&nbsp;has quietly removed the I-Pace from its official website, hinting at the SUV's discontinuation.&nbsp;The <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/jaguar-i-pace-all-electric-suv-launched-in-india-109193/">I-Pace was the brand's first and only EV in the country that went on sale in March 2021</a>. It carried a sticker price of Rs 1.26 crore (ex-showroom) before it was delisted.&nbsp;While Jaguar hasn't made an official announcement,&nbsp;the SUV's dwindling sales and lack of periodic updates seem to be the reasons for its discontinuation.&nbsp;Notably, the company has also delisted the F-Type,&nbsp;whose production was suspended last month for the international market.&nbsp;For now, Jaguar only offers the F-Pace SUV in India.</p>

<h2>Jaguar I-Pace: Powertrain</h2>

<p>The I-Pace's powertrain consisted of a 90kWh battery and two electric motors that together delivered 389bhp and 696Nm of performance figures. The SUV had a range of 470 kilometres and a 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.8 seconds.&nbsp;It used to be charged in 15 minutes for a range of approximately 127 kilometres&nbsp;using a DC fast charger with a 60 kW capacity that also provided full charge in 55 minutes.&nbsp;The SUV's battery was charged in an hour using a 50 kW charger, giving it a range of up to 270 kilometres.&nbsp;Additionally, an optional 11 kW wallbox charger and a 7.4 kW AC charger were also provided.</p>

<h2>Jaguar I-Pace: Features</h2>

<p>The I-Pace electric SUV was fitted with a fully digital driver's display,&nbsp;16-way heated, cooled, and powered memory front seats, a 5.5-inch display for climate controls, and a 10-inch touchscreen. It had a&nbsp;tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS),&nbsp;six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a 360-degree camera, and a parking assist for safety.</p>

<p>The Range Rover Sport SV Celestial Collection has been unveiled by Land Rover.&nbsp;This collection, which includes five unique models – Gaea, Theia, Io, Vega, and Sol – is inspired by mythology and heavenly bodies. Special colour schemes, carbon ceramic brakes, a carbon fibre hood, 23-inch wheels, fabric and trim inserts, and other distinctive stylistic elements are all part of the limited edition.</p>

JLR India Announces 5-year Service Plan For Land Rover, Range Rover, and Jaguar Models

<p><em><strong>The rather striking Jaguar F-Pace gets a 2.0-litre petrol heart. So, does it finally hit the sweet spot?&nbsp;</strong></em></p>

<p>Since its launch in 2016, the journey of the Jaguar F-Pace in India hasn’t been as smooth as Jaguar would’ve liked. It was really a consequence of misreading the Indian market on two separate occasions. First, Jaguar brought the F-Pace in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), making it exceedingly expensive in comparison to its rivals – especially the higher spec R-Sport and First Edition variants. A year later, they realised the problem and took corrective action by commencing local assembly. While this helped them drop the price by more than Rs. 10 lakh and bring it on par with its rivals, it meant the end of the more powerful, 3.0-litre, V6 variants. What remained was a rather lacklustre 2.0-litre diesel that didn’t quite do justice to the car’s capabilities. In an attempt to rewrite the story, again, Jaguar has now brought in the petrol F-Pace to India. So, does it finally manage to put together all the pieces of the puzzle.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Gasoline gusto</strong><br />
The biggest change in this F-Pace is the introduction of a petrol motor. The F-Pace 25t is equipped with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline motor. It’s the same engine that does duty in the XE and XF sedans. While both these sedans are unmistakably lighter than the F-Pace, Jaguar, in a clever move, has ensured that the engine pushes out more power and torque in the F-Pace. In this spec, it’s rated to 247bhp and 365Nm – resulting in a pretty good power-to-weight ratio of nearly 135bhp/ton. To put that in perspective, while the F-Pace diesel weighs the same, the 20d has a power-to-weight ratio of just 96bhp/ton and does the 0 to 100km/h dash in 9 seconds – 2 seconds slower than the petrol. Of course, if you like a torquey motor, the diesel still makes 65Nm more torque. But if it’s is refinement and gusto that you seek, the petrol has you covered.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Right from the word go, you feel that the locally assembled F-Pace has finally got the motor it deserves. The strong low and mid-range camouflages its 1,830kg weight exceptionally well. Progress from a standstill is quick, and it doesn’t hesitate to rev right up to its 6,500rpm red line. The engine is extremely adaptable – it performs its everyday duties with ease and has the ability to bring some energy into your commute. However, its eager nature is somewhat let down by the 9-speed automatic gearbox – which feels like it has one ratio too many.&nbsp;</p>

<p>And while the engine is an absolute delight, the suspension and steering work perfectly in unison to make the F-Pace amongst the best handling cars in its segment. Setup on the firm side, the F-Pace attacks corners with great confidence. Body roll is well managed, and electronic aids like the torque vectoring system come together to provide astonishing agility to this car. The way the suspension is tuned does make it harsh on bad roads, but it’s a trade-off worth having. Despite being electrically assisted, the steering has good weight, feel and precision – a combination that’s rare to find in this day and age.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Design details</strong><br />
Visually, it’s not really any different here from the diesel model that’s already on sale, except of course the 25t badging on the tailgate. Despite the F-Pace being more than 2 years old, we’re still in love with its design. It borrows some of its design cues from the XF sedan and the F-Type coupe. The wide grille, tall, flat bonnet, the hunkered-down stance and the F-type like rear – all of which give it an appeal that very few can match.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On the inside, there’s a sense of quality and richness that you’d expect from a Jaguar. Taking centre stage is the InControl touchscreen infotainment unit that comes paired with a great sounding Meridian audio system. Additionally, in this Prestige trim, the F-Pace also gets four-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch alloy wheels and adaptive headlights. In terms of safety, the F-Pace has 6 airbags, lane keeping assist, front &amp; rear parking sensors, and more.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Wholesome package, finally!</strong><br />
The diesel motor just doesn’t have enough poke to make the most of what the chassis, suspension and steering have to offer. This 2.0-litre petrol, on the other hand, is splendidly high-spirited. And it also ticks the value-for-money box – something that the V6 diesel never did. In fact, it is `40,000 cheaper than the 20d. The Jaguar F-Pace, nearly two years after it was first launched, now finally feels like a wholesome package. &nbsp;</p>
