Not so spacious

<p>The XE is quite a good car to drive, decent engine and power. But it does not score well when it comes to the space inside. The seating position is not the most comfortable and the back seat is suitable only for kids. Even average-sized adults find it tough to sit in the back seat for a long time.</p>


Good pick-up

<p>From 0-100, this car simply shoots away. Was lucky to test drive one that belonged to my friend's relative. Acceleration was simply super. Amazing car.</p>


Sexy looks

<p>The XE looks very sexy compared to C-Class and BMW 3-series. Jaguar have done a good job as far as design is concerned. But I am looking forward to a sharper design for 2020.</p>

<p>The Jaguar E-Type, produced from 1961 to 1974, remains one of the most iconic classic cars in automotive history. Inspired by Jaguar’s Le Mans-winning D-Type race car, the E-Type Series 1 originally featured a 3.8-litre inline-six engine, later upgraded to 4.2 litres. Despite its stunning looks and motorsport heritage, many believed the E-Type deserved a V12 engine. Well, the folks at ECD Automotive Design have certainly made that wish come true.</p><p>The design firm has created a E-Type Series 1 with a original Jaguar V12 engine that puts out 400bhp.This restomod. The upgraded E-Type not only honours its racing roots but also adds new appeal for collectors and fans of vintage British sports cars.</p><p>Elliot Humble, ECD’s Chief Technical Officer, said: 'This car pushed the limits of what’s possible when blending three generations of E-Type architecture. Series I body, Series II chassis, Series III power — every part was reconsidered, refined, and reengineered to work in harmony.'</p><p>'This wasn’t just a technical challenge,” he added. “It was a reward. Because once it all came together, and we rolled it out for the first time, we knew this was something the world had never seen — and might never see again.'</p><h2>More About ECD Jaguar E-Type GTO</h2><p>This Jaguar E-Type restomod is finished in Metallic British Racing Green, a classic shade with a modern twist. As mentioned before, it houses a rebuilt Jaguar V12 engine by Team CJ in Texas, paired with ECD’s custom fuel injection and cooling systems. Built on a Series II chassis and powered by a Series III engine, the car uses a custom cradle and axle for smooth power delivery.</p><p>

Jaguar has offered a glimpse of its upcoming Design Vision Concept, which will make its formal premiere on December 2 during Miami Art Week. This comes after the brand introduced its new logo and brand identity.

<p>Jaguar is undergoing a significant transformation, positioning itself as a high-end, all-electric luxury brand. This shift is highlighted by the introduction of new logos, leading up to the release of the Jaguar Design Vision concept car. Aiming to compete with British luxury brands like Bentley and Rolls-Royce, Jaguar’s rebranding is guided by a philosophy focused on exuberance, modernism, and compelling design. These changes signal a break from the past and the beginning of a new chapter. The Jaguar Design Vision concept will offer a preview of the brand's electric future, featuring innovative design and technology. As Jaguar moves forward, it seeks to redefine luxury and performance.</p>

<h2>New Style</h2>

<p>Jaguar's new brand identity includes four main elements: two logos, a typeface, a colour palette, and a graphic code called "strikethrough." The typeface, referred to as a "device mark," combines uppercase and lowercase letters to spell out "Jaguar." It is displayed in gold on a white background with horizontally aligned rectangles.</p>

<p>The background is an example of the "strikethrough" graphic code, which consists of horizontal lines within a rectangular frame. The "strikethrough" also appears in the redesigned "leaper" logo, an updated version of the jaguar mascot. The new "leaper" logo presents a more angular representation of the pouncing cat.</p>

<p>The jaguar face logo, which has been used on the grilles of Jaguar cars for the past two decades, is replaced by a new circular badge. The emblem features the letters ‘J’ and ‘r’ in brass within a circle, linked by a curved border.&nbsp;The logos are complemented by a new colour palette, based on primary colours—red, blue, and yellow—that reflect the value of ‘exuberance’.</p>

<h2>The Jaguar EV</h2>

<p>Jaguar has not yet revealed how its new logos will appear on future cars, but more details will come when the automaker shows a "design vision" concept car at Miami Art Week on December 2. The concept will give a first look at the first car in Jaguar's updated lineup, which started public road testing last week, with teaser images of an electric four-door grand tourer in camouflage.</p>

These two new Jaguar E-Types were created by JLR's Works Bespoke division for a special customer in Southeast Asia. The cars are painted in Signet Green and Opal Black, colours inspired by the final versions of the Series 3 E-Type from 1974. Inside, the luxurious leather seats feature a unique woven pattern, a first for Jaguar Classic. These bespoke E-Types showcase the timeless elegance and performance of the original E-Type, making them highly sought-after by collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.</p>

Jaguar’s Classics division has unveiled two exquisitely crafted E-Type models, the result of thousands of hours of expert craftsmanship.

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/jaguar/">Jaguar India</a>&nbsp;has quietly removed the I-Pace from its official website, hinting at the SUV's discontinuation.&nbsp;The <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/jaguar-i-pace-all-electric-suv-launched-in-india-109193/">I-Pace was the brand's first and only EV in the country that went on sale in March 2021</a>. It carried a sticker price of Rs 1.26 crore (ex-showroom) before it was delisted.&nbsp;While Jaguar hasn't made an official announcement,&nbsp;the SUV's dwindling sales and lack of periodic updates seem to be the reasons for its discontinuation.&nbsp;Notably, the company has also delisted the F-Type,&nbsp;whose production was suspended last month for the international market.&nbsp;For now, Jaguar only offers the F-Pace SUV in India.</p>

<h2>Jaguar I-Pace: Powertrain</h2>

<p>The I-Pace's powertrain consisted of a 90kWh battery and two electric motors that together delivered 389bhp and 696Nm of performance figures. The SUV had a range of 470 kilometres and a 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.8 seconds.&nbsp;It used to be charged in 15 minutes for a range of approximately 127 kilometres&nbsp;using a DC fast charger with a 60 kW capacity that also provided full charge in 55 minutes.&nbsp;The SUV's battery was charged in an hour using a 50 kW charger, giving it a range of up to 270 kilometres.&nbsp;Additionally, an optional 11 kW wallbox charger and a 7.4 kW AC charger were also provided.</p>

<h2>Jaguar I-Pace: Features</h2>

<p>The I-Pace electric SUV was fitted with a fully digital driver's display,&nbsp;16-way heated, cooled, and powered memory front seats, a 5.5-inch display for climate controls, and a 10-inch touchscreen. It had a&nbsp;tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS),&nbsp;six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a 360-degree camera, and a parking assist for safety.</p>

<p>The F-Pace is Jaguar's only model available in India, with a price tag of Rs 72.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It has&nbsp;a bigger grille with diamond inserts, slim LED headlights, and dual-barrel DRLs. <p>The Range Rover Sport SV Celestial Collection has been unveiled by Land Rover.&nbsp;This collection, which includes five unique models – Gaea, Theia, Io, Vega, and Sol – is inspired by mythology and heavenly bodies. Special colour schemes, carbon ceramic brakes, a carbon fibre hood, 23-inch wheels, fabric and trim inserts, and other distinctive stylistic elements are all part of the limited edition.</p>

<p>The cabin is more understated than the exterior, with upholstery options including non-leather ebony upholstery with yellow stitching and navy Windsor leather with mild contrast stitching.</p>


JLR India Announces 5-year Service Plan For Land Rover, Range Rover, and Jaguar Models

<p><em>The XE is arguably the most important new car in Jaguar’s line-up. Much of the company’s growth depends on the success of this sports sedan, which is targeting a fiercely competitive segment. We drive it to find out what you can expect when it’s launched here early next year.</em></p>

<p>The compact sports sedan segment has been one where, historically, Jaguar hasn’t done especially well. The X-type performed rather badly, which was the last Jag in this segment. Based on the Ford Mondeo, the front-wheel drive sedan wasn’t much of a looker and potential buyers weren’t fooled by the presence of the leaping cat on what was a product that simply didn’t match up to the competition.</p>

<p>So, six years after the X-type made a sly exit, Jaguar is back with a brand new sports sedan to faceoff with some formidable rivals: the BMW 3-series, the sublime Mercedes C-Class and the (soon to be all-new) Audi A4 – a line-up that is fiercely competitive and highly capable. The reason for this is simple – the sports sedan segment has huge volumes and each luxury carmaker is desperately vying for supremacy. And that’s the key to understanding Jaguar’s focus on the XE. For the Jaguar brand to grow further it needs the volumes that this sports sedan could bring – and so the XE is key to the future of the company.</p>

<p>When we got our first glimpse of the new XE in the flesh, the early signs were positive. The shape has all the hallmarks of the brand’s design language, and is a handsome looking car. Of course, like most modern Jaguar sedans, it looks a bit too similar to its bigger siblings. But, from a brand point of view, that may not be a bad thing. Given its long bonnet and short rear, it lends the XE an aggressive looks – which yields a fair amount of road presence. The various details spread around the car, such as the headlights with daytime running lamps, the vents on the front fenders, and the taillights add to the effect. Of course, a lot of customisation options also exist, so you can tailor the car to suit your tastes.</p>

<p>The design language carries over to the interiors too – with the dashboard featuring a unique sweeping design, which Jaguar refers to as the ‘Riva’ line in reference to the famous (and gorgeous) Italian yachts. This means that, when seated in the cabin, you feel like you’re in a cocoon with the design literally wrapping itself around you. The fit-and-finish of the interiors is quite impressive, and the completely revamped multimedia system is far superior to Jaguar’s older interface. Space, however, is a bit of a concern – especially in the rear seat. Legroom in the rear is limited, and the combination of the rear vents along with a high transmission tunnel means that the XE is most suited to being a four-seater. And this is an aspect where the new C-Class clearly dominates the XE.</p>

<p>Of course, one of the JLR hallmarks that the XE brings to the table is its aluminium construction – with the metal comprising 75% of the car. Naturally, this leads to major weight savings for the XE – and this yields benefits in both performance and efficiency. Out on the road, the XE delivers a lot of positives – the ride is very polished and the car handles extremely due to the dual wishbone suspension up-front. The rear consists of an integral link unit. There are three suspension options available globally – comfort, sport and active – and the XE behaves very well in each of them. The ride is surprisingly supple – especially in comfort, which is most likely the trim that we’ll get in India when the XE is launched early next year.</p>

<p>The supportive seats make spending time in the car quite a pleasant experience. Another noticeable aspect is its aerodynamic design, with the car posting a Cd figure of just 0.26 – lower wind resistance, of course, contributes to the efficiency of the car.</p>

<p>The other big leap that Jag is making with the XE is under the bonnet, which features its brand new Ingenium series of engines. The engine line-up of 2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engines in both petrol and diesel are a clear indication of Jaguars advanced engineering skills under Tata stewardship. The petrol version, with 237bhp, is very refined and easy to drive – while sounding quite pleasant too. More importantly, for our market though, is the fact that the 178bhp diesel engine also performs extremely well and has ample power and grunt for cruising as well as commuting.</p>

<p>However, a defining characteristic is the linear power delivery of both engines – which, at times, can actually make you feel like they’re a little too tame. But when you glance at the speedo, it’s clear there’s enough power to make the XE a strong competitor in this segment. Adding to the driving appeal is the standard-fit eight-speed automatic transmission, which works brilliantly in both auto mode as well as when you decide to take matters in your own hands by using the paddles on the steering wheel.</p>

<p>And this overall feeling of balance, via an excellent suspension setup, was reinforced when we spent the afternoon doing laps around the Navarra circuit in the XE S. This is fitted with the third engine option in the range – the 335bhp 3-litre supercharged V6 that’s also found on the F-type. The rather technical track is an excellent place to test the dynamics of a car, and the XE proved its mettle while we were pounding in lap-after-lap without a single issue. The only downside is that the 3.0-litre engine is unlikely to make it to India.</p>

<p>What actually stood out was the overall chassis balance of the car, which made hustling it around the circuit a great experience. Moreover, setting the traction control system to sport allowed the driver to slide the car around with ease, and yet it maintained a safety net to make sure that things never got out of hand. In fact, the tuning of the system is so refined that even when it did intervene it was virtually imperceptible – unlike some other systems that abruptly kill power at the hint of a slide.</p>

<p>So, the new XE offers a very attractive package in terms of design, the detailing of the interiors, as well as driving appeal. I think it’s going to prove itself to be quite a tough competitor to the existing players in the segment – and with the Jaguar brand gaining prominence worldwide, the XE could well become a volume seller for the brand. However, the relatively tight interiors could be an issue for potential buyers in India. The real fun and games will only come, however, when we’re able to do a comparison test of the XE with its direct competitors. With all four very capable cars vying for the top spot, let the competition begin...</p>
