The Mahindra Vision X is a premium-looking SUV that is expected to be launched next year. It is said to come with cutting-edge design, modular electrified architecture, and advanced technology. Though most of the details about the car are unconfirmed, we still expect it to come with an electric powertrain. Let’s have a look at the anticipated features and specifications of this upcoming Mahindra car.
The Mahindra Vision X is expected to be offered in electric variants. It shall ride on Mahindra’s new NU_IQ modular multi-energy platform. It is likely to boast dual electric motors to support an AWD layout, though a single-motor FWD setup may also be offered for lower variants. The motor should be mated to a single-speed reduction gearbox to handle the power transmission tasks. Regenerative braking is also expected to play a part in energy recovery.
The Vision X is slated to come with a battery pack of around 80 kWh, delivering a range of somewhere around 500–650 km.
Looking at the current trends, this vehicle should also come with DC fast charging support, probably in the 150–175 kW range. Regenerative braking and smart energy management shall also be there to help optimize efficiency
One of the more intriguing claims around NU_IQ is the use of a 5-link rear suspension even in compact models. It is said to be a fairly advanced setup to improve ride and handling. Also, Mahindra is said to integrate a damper system called DAVINCI to counter high centre-of-gravity dynamics. The front suspension is likely to be a MacPherson strut.
From the concept visuals, the Vision X seems to ride on 19-inch aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels wrapped in low-rolling-resistance tyres. Production versions may downsize to 18-inch or 17-inch options for base trims to help with ride comfort and cost. The concept even shows tyre spec like 235/50 on Pirelli P Zero in some renderings. On the braking front, it must incorporate all disc brakes, perhaps ventilated in the front, with a regenerative braking system. The braking setup should also boast ABS, EBD, and brake assist.
Though the manufacturer didn’t announce many of the details, it was intended to be a sub-4 metre SUV. Its wheelbase is said to be around 2665-2670 mm.
