<p><em><strong>The standard EQS 580 will be manufactured at the company's plant in Chakan.</strong></em></p>

<p>After introducing the AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ in India, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mercedes-benz/" target="_blank">Mercedes-Benz</a> is all set to introduce the EQS 580 on September 21. Unlike the EQS 53 which comes to the out country as a CBU, the 580 will be locally manufactured, which means you can expect a lower price tag.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The car is based on the company’s new bespoke EVA platform which will require a dedicated assembly line with new hardware. It will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Chakan. This is also the first electric vehicle for the plant, considering that it has been churning out ICE cars since its inception.</p>

<p>Pretty much all the core hardware in the EQS 580 is similar to the EQS 53, which means you get a dual-motor setup that sources its power from a reworked version of the 107.8kWh battery that discharges at a lower rate with lesser performance. The car shines in terms of range with 770km on a single charge on the WLTP cycle.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mercedes-benz/amg-eqs/">AMG EQS 53 4Matic+</a> was launched in India on August 24 as the most expensive <a href="https://www.autox.com/electric-cars-in-india/" target="_blank">EV</a> in India at Rs 2.45 crore. The car gets a dual-motor set-up that outputs a whopping 761hp and 1020Nm of torque. It has the same battery capacity of 107.8 kWh but with 586km of range.</p>

Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 India launch on September 30

The standard version of the EQS will launch in India next month. The car comes as a more road-friendly version of the recently-launched AMG EQS 53. Here are more details about the launch.

<p>The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ has arrived in India wearing a price tag of Rs 2.45 crore. Surprisingly, the car has arrived ahead of its made-in-India standard variant, the EQS 580 which is set to be launched in the coming few months. But the first-ever all-electric AMG is here and we need to talk about it. Specifically, 5 cool things you need to know about the car.</p>

<p><strong>Screens, Screens and Screens</strong></p>

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mercedes-benz/" target="_blank">Mercedes-Benz </a>calls this one flowy unit the MBUX Hyperscreen, or as I would like to call it, big screen. The large unit is split into three screens including a 13.3-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver, a 17.7-inch infotainment system and a 13.3-inch passenger display. The interesting bit about the infotainment system is that it comes with 8-cores, 24GB RAM and Artificial Intelligence. No, not the Skynet kind, but the kind that will learn your driving habits and decide specific routes to get to your destination, or even call your spouse every day at 7 pm when you leave the office and get into the car.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The screens require another piece on our website itself. But a few of the additional notable features come in the form of different driver profiles which are set automatically with the help of facial recognition done by attention-detecting cameras placed in front of the driver, vehicle stats including battery, motors as well as recuperation and a track mode that comes in handy if you decide to show it a few chicanes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now considering this car is almost 5.2metres long which is quite enormous, it gets rear-wheel steering of 9 degrees. At low speeds, this turns in the same direction as the front wheels for better manoeuvrability and at higher speeds in the opposite direction for better corner stability.</p>

<p><strong>Battery and Range</strong></p>

<p>Now this AMG version of the EQS gets the same battery as the upcoming standard EQS 580, which is a 107.8kWh unit. Only, in this avatar, it discharges more quickly to provide better performance. In India, the car arrives with a Dyncamic+ pack as standard. This means on tap there is 761hp and a whopping 1020Nm of torque. Interestingly, even with such high-performance credentials, the car can return a range of at least 529km on a single charge. There is an option of fast DC charging as well which will replenish the car from 0 to 80% in just 30 minutes. As far as the future of EV goes this one seems to tick all boxes.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Sustainable Interiors</strong></p>

<p>The EQS is not just eco-friendly due to non-existent tailpipe emissions but also because the materials used to build the cabin of the car and a few other electrical parts are made out of recycled materials. For instance, the company recycles fishing nets to create a nylon synthetic that you can see on the floor and beneath the seats. The metal parts have been recycled from scrap steel and the overall cabin does score well enough to make the polar bears up north happy.</p>

<p><strong>Smart Illumination</strong></p>

<p>The EQS 53 gets smart illumination inside the cabin which communicates with the driver using different hues. The illumination strips are practically everywhere and come with a wide range of colours as well. It also manages several safety features of the car. For instance, while opening the door of the car, the car will detect objects outside and put a red light on the respective side of the cabin to warn about oncoming cars/pedestrians. The car talks to you. With lights. Like Stranger Things. If that isn’t cool, we don’t know what is.</p>

Mercedes-AMG EQS 53: Five cool things you need to know

The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 is arguably one of the best performance EV in India now. The car retails at 2.45 crore and comes with a host of features that need a second look.  5 of them are right here.

<p>The Mercedes AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ has been launched in India. It is available in only one variant which has been priced at Rs 2.45 crore&nbsp;(Ex-showroom). The EQS is the first vehicle from <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mercedes-benz/">Mercedes Benz</a> that is built on the company’s new EV-only architecture.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mercedes-benz/eqs/">AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+</a> is powered by two electric motors, one on each axle, giving it AWD capabilities. The total output of these motors is rated at&nbsp;751bhp/1020Nm with the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package, and with that output, the AMG EQS can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds and has a restricted top speed of 250km/h.</p>

<p>Mercedes is offering a 107.8 kWh battery pack with the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ and it supports fast charging at up to 200 kW, meaning you can top up the batteries with up to 300kms of range in just 19 minutes. The 10 to 80% charge can be done in 30 minutes using a similar charger.&nbsp;AC charging is also supported using a 22kW charger. As far as the range goes, Mercedes says that the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ has a WLTP range of 526-580kms. Mercedes-Benz is also looking to set up its own charging network in the country, and they aim to be the largest OEM charging network in India by the end of 2022, and Mercedes-Benz owners will be able to charge their cars free of cost till the end of 2023.</p>

<p>As far as features go, the Mercedes EQS AMG 53 4MATIC+ is equipped with more than you can fathom. There is air suspension, rear-wheel steering, the MBUX Hyperscreen touchscreen, 21- or 22-inch AMG wheels and brake energy recuperation.</p>

<p>The Mercedes EQS AMG 53 4MATIC+ will be built in India, and as such, it has no real rival in the Indian market.</p>

Mercedes Benz India has launched the EQS 53 4MATIC+ in India, at a price of Rs 2.45 crore. It is the first all-electric sedan from the German carmaker for India, and is the electric equivalent of its most known model, the S Class.

and relatively longer range. It features nine airbags, an AMG RIDE CONTROL+ air
