The MG Gloster Snowstorm has a dual-tone Pearl White and Black paint job. MG Motor India has introduced the 2023 Gloster Blackstorm variant in the country. The new deep black SUV has redesigned style, additional features, and the latest Level 1 ADAS capabilities. The MG Gloster Blackstorm will be available in two different drivetrain configurations: front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). MG has gone with an all-black aesthetic, following in the successful footsteps of companies like Tata Motors with their Dark Edition and Volkswagen with their Deep Black Pearl. The inside retains the black and red theme with black upholstery and crimson accents on the dashboard and steering wheel. Given the current automotive industry trends, Tata Dark Edition SUVs for instance, the MG Gloster Black Storm version&nbsp;is anticipated to feature a black&nbsp;shade and some blacked-out elements on the exterior. The all-black treatment could be extended to the car's alloy wheels. MG India is going to make its flagship model- the Gloster comply with BS6 Phase 2 and RDE emission standards. The new emission rules will implement in India starting the next month.

The 2022 MG Gloster is here with minor tweaks on the outside and an elaborate makeover in terms of features.

MG has launched the 2022 <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mg/gloster/" target="_blank">Gloster</a> <a href="https://www.autox.com/suv-cars-in-india/" target="_blank">SUV </a>in India with prices starting at Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and going up to Rs 40.77 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes in both six and seven-seater options and three different trims - Super, Sharp and Savvy.

On the outside, the new version has retained most bits as the outgoing one. However, it drives on a set of new alloy wheels and gets a new paint option in addition to the existing palette of Agate Red, Metal Ash, Warm White and Metal Black.&nbsp;

On the inside, the car's most prominent change comes with a new advanced i-Smart touchscreen infotainment system which comes with 75 connectivity features. The company states that owners can now use the app as a remote for audio, AC and ambient lighting in addition to the features in the previous version. The system which was earlier only compatible with Apple Watch is now compatible with Android smartwatches as well.&nbsp;

<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mg/" target="_blank">MG</a> says that the new MaymyIndia interface will give information about real-time weather and AQI. It also comes with a new integrated Discover App that easily finds the nearest essentials. In addition to this, the car also comes with a new Park Plus head unit app that lets user book and pay in advance for parking spots.&nbsp;

In terms of powertrain, the car comes with sole diesel options and both 4x2 as well as 4x4 drivetrain options. Under the hood is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel motor which will be mated to an 8 speed automatic gearbox and output 212bhp.

Before the new Hector, MG is all set to launch the updated Gloster SUV in India.

Ahead of its official debut in India, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mg/" target="_blank">MG</a> has teased the upcoming new Gloster in India. The car is seen to come with ADAS features and will be launched in India on August 31. On social media along with the teaser, the company wrote “The power of 4x4. The protection of ADAS. The Advanced Gloster is coming to leave its mark on the road and on your mind.”

The seven-seater <a href="https://www.autox.com/suv-cars-in-india/" target="_blank">SUV</a> was launched in India in 2020 at a starting price of Rs 37.28 lakh (ex-showroom). The car is already offered with the brand’s ADAS safety net, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, automatic parking assist, Forward Collision Warning Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection and Lane Departure Warning.&nbsp;

In terms of powertrain, the car is expected to continue with the 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, which will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The engine puts out 215bhp and 480Nm of torque. In the upcoming version, the car will also likely get seven different 4x4 driving modes including Snow, Sand, Mud, Rock, Sport, Eco and Auto.&nbsp;

Apart from the elaborate safety net, the car also comes with a host of creature comfort features like driver seat massage function, heated driver and front passenger seats, panoramic sunroof, and an extensive touchscreen infotainment system with iSmart function that brings 70 connected features.

The Savvy – top-spec – variant of the MG Gloster has been updated with a seven-seater option. The seven-seater Savvy variant has been priced the same as the six-seater Savvy variant at Rs 37.28 lakh (ex-showroom). With the addition of a new variant, the MG Gloster has also seen a price hike. The lowest Super variant continues with its Rs 29.98 lakh (ex-showroom) price while the higher variants get an upward price revision.

There is a Rs 40,000 increase on already existing Sharp, Smart and Savvy variants. Despite the increase in price, the MG Gloster continues to be the same mechanically.

There is a 2.0-litre diesel engine that powers the Gloster, however, the powertrain is offered in two different states of tune. The variants equipped with a rear-wheel-drive layout get a power output of 161bhp and 375Nm of torque. The higher-spec 4x4 models come equipped with a twin-turbocharged setup that bumps up the power to 215bhp and 480Nm of torque. Both the RWD and the 4x4 variant get an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The MG Gloster continues with Level-One autonomous driving tech and the safety features include Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Auto-Park Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Automatic Emergency Braking.

With the addition of a new Savvy seven-seater variant, the customers can choose to have all the bells and whistles of the top-spec trim with an option to seat seven adding to its practicality.

The key rivals to the MG Gloster are the Ford Endeavour and the Toyota Fortuner. The Mahindra Alturas G4 also positions itself in the same pricing as the MG Gloster.

MG Gloster, the flagship SUV from the British carmaker has received its first price hike since its launch in October 2020. The price hike is substantial and increases as the variants go higher. The Super – base – variant of the MG Gloster that can be had in a seven-seat layout has not seen a price revision and continues with its introductory price of Rs 28.98 lakh.

The variants that have seen a price hike are Smart seven-seater, Sharp six and seven-seater, and the top-of-the-line Savvy variant. The price hike ranges from Rs 50,000 up to Rs 80,000. Following is the detailed price hike of the MG Gloster.

The price hike could be a result of higher input costs and affected logistics due to the lockdown imposed in a few states of India. However, MG has not stated an official reason for the price hike.

The Gloster rivals the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and the Mahindra Alturas G4. Out of all the aforementioned SUVs, the Fortuner is the only one that offers a petrol drivetrain, however, the prices for the base-petrol variant of the Toyota Fortuner are higher than the base variant of the MG Gloster.
