<h2>MG ZS EV: Exterior</h2>

<p>In March 2022, the automaker released the 2022 version of the ZS EV, India's first electric SUV. The updated front fascia, which consists of a closed grille and&nbsp;has the charging port on the left side of the MG symbol on the grille itself, was one of the improvements on the most recent model. Both the MG ZS EV and&nbsp;MG Astor facelifts have undergone several&nbsp;cosmetic updates that resemble the MG VS hybrid SUV, presently on&nbsp;sale in Thailand. Let's take a closer look at the&nbsp;significant modifications in these 2023 variants.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Most of the changes can be seen mainly on the front end of the models. The cars have a revised bumper with a diamond pattern and wider side intakes, as well as a freshly styled grille. On the other hand,&nbsp;the new <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mg/">MG </a>ZS EV facelift for 2023 may employ the very same 50.3kWh battery pack and an electric motor providing 176bhp and 280Nm of output. 2023 MG ZS EV, Astor facelift unveiled

The popular midsize SUV ZS, which is marketed in India as the Astor, has received a facelift by MG. The updated MG ZS and its electrified variant, the ZS EV, have both been recently introduced for global markets.

<p><strong><em>The ZS EV facelift could get a massive bump in price, if MG decides to upgrade the battery pack.</em></strong></p>

<p>MG India has confirmed that the upcoming <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mg/zs-ev-facelift/">facelift of the ZS EV</a> will be launched in India, on March 7. We have already had glimpses of the car, and from whatever pictures are available to us, it looks like the India-spec model will be pretty similar to the UK version revealed last year.</p>

<p>As far as the changes are concerned, the ZS EV facelift will mirror the Astor in a lot of areas. The interior is expected to be the same, along with 10.1-inch touchscreen that tilts slightly towards the driver. Even the feature set of the ZS EV is expected to be borrowed from the Astor. That means, there is a very real chance that the facelifted ZS EV will get ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).</p>

<p>On the outside, the grille will be blocked off like in most traditional EVs. The charging port will continue to be in the front, and the headlights and tail lights will be lifted straight from the Astor. The bumpers however will be newly designed and will the give the EV an identity of its own.</p>

<p>As far as the mechanicals are concerned, the electric motor under the bonnet is expected to remain the same 141bhp/353Nm unit. The battery pack is set to get bigger though. The current car sports a 44.5kWh unit that’s good for a claimed range of 419 kilometres. It could grow to 51kWh in size, meaning that the claimed range could cross the 500km mark. MG could also opt to bring in the bigger 72kWh battery pack available in international markets, but that would considerably inflate the ZS EV’s price.</p>

<p>As of now, it retails between Rs. 21.49 lakh and Rs. 25.18 lakh (both ex-showroom). With the new model coming in, this price could increase anywhere between Rs 50,000 and Rs 2 lakh, depending upon whether MG only updates the features, or the battery pack as well. For now, the MG’s only rival in the Indian market is the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/hyundai/kona-electric/">Kona Electric</a>, which too will be getting a facelift this year.</p>

<p><strong>The looks</strong></p>

<p>The fascia is mildly reworked. The crossover-SUV still misses out on a grille – why would it need one ? – but the design details have been worked upon. Along with the headlamps, the bumper sports a different design than before. The wheels have been reworked too, however, the new alloys follow the diamond cut pattern.</p>

<p>While there are no pictures of the interiors, the cabin is likely to receive mild retouches. The interior layout is expected to be largely based on the one observed in the Astor.</p>

<p><strong>Mechanicals</strong></p>

<p>The MG ZS EV will likely continue with the same powertrain as the outgoing model. However, reports online suggest otherwise. The 2022 model could get a larger battery pack which will boost its claimed range up to 400+ kms in a single charge.</p>

<p>The power output may see a slight increase as well. Currently, the ZS EV produces 140bhp and 353Nm.</p>

<p><strong>Launch</strong></p>

<p>The 2022 MG ZS EV could be launched by the end of Q2. Post the launch of the MG Astor, the brand has multiple crossover and SUVs in its portfolio across different price ranges. The British carmaker could introduce the updated ZS EV soon as the crossover-SUV hasn’t received any substantial update.</p>

<p>With the new model, the prices are likely to go up as well, approximately by Rs 30,000-50,000. The current prices range between Rs 21.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 25.18 lakh (ex-showroom).</p>
