Skoda,&nbsp;the Czech automobile manufacturer, has rolled out a new version of its Kushaq flagship SUV in the Indian market. The new edition&nbsp;was&nbsp;launched on March 27. The Onyx variant, which sits between the Active and Ambition trims, has been priced by the auto manufacturer at Rs 12.39 lakh (ex-showroom). For those unaware, the newly introduced&nbsp;edition costs Rs 80,000 more than the base Active variant. Around 20 additional variants of the Kushaq SUV are available, including Anniversary and Monte Carlo editions. The Onyx Edition receives certain extra features over the <a href="https://www.autox.com/reviews/car-reviews/skoda-kushaq-review-first-drive-109656/">Kushaq’s</a> base Ambition variant. This consists of fog lamps, rear wipers with washers, rear defoggers, LED headlights,&nbsp;automatic climate control with an air purifier, and more. Other notable features include a 7-inch touchscreen, a 6-speaker audio system, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.&nbsp;The Kushaq Onyx Edition is equipped with dual front airbags, ESP, three-point seatbelts for every passenger, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and ISOFIX anchors for added security. The stylised Grey graphics on the doors and the addition of "Onyx" badging to the B-Pillar are the foremost exterior changes for the <a href="https://www.autox.com/reviews/car-reviews/skoda-kushaq-10-tsi-review-first-drive-109934/">Kushaq</a> Onyx version. The special edition also includes a faux diffuser on the front bumper, chrome grille surrounds, and 16-inch steel wheels with freshly created plastic covers.&nbsp;Minor updates to the interior include Onyx badging on the scuff plates and headrests, a Black and Grey colour scheme, a two-spoke steering wheel, chrome surrounds on the AC vents&nbsp;and a textured pattern on the dashboard.

<h2>Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition: Engine and Gearbox</h2>

The Onyx Edition, as stated earlier, sits between the base Active and the mid-range Ambition Classic trims, which are both powered by 1.0-litre&nbsp;turbo-petrol engines that churn&nbsp;out&nbsp;a maximum power of 114bhp. Further, there will only be a six-speed manual transmission option for the engine. The Onyx, therefore, gets the 1.0-litre unit as its sole option, with the automatic transmission not available with the model. Design Upgrades

The exterior colour options for the Kushaq Anniversary Edition are the same as for the standard model. The special edition Kushaq, however, receives an 'Anniversary Edition' badge on the C-pillar and steering wheel, new door-edge protectors, new contrast stitching, and a chrome applique across the base of the doors.&nbsp;Aside from these slight additions, the Kushaq Special Edition keeps its&nbsp;17-inch alloy wheels, the front bumper's faux diffuser, and a sunroof.

Features

This updated version of the SUV includes a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay support as well as&nbsp;wireless Android Auto. It is also&nbsp;equipped with&nbsp;Electronic Stability Control (ESC),&nbsp;automatic climate control,&nbsp;traction control,&nbsp;rain-sensing wipers,&nbsp;6 airbags,&nbsp;cruise control, and other safety features.

Powertrain

According to reports, the Anniversary Edition is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The engine produces 113bhp and 175Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Another engine option is a 1.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol unit that produces 148bhp and 250Nm torque. This, too, is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Skoda Kushaq Anniversary edition launched starting at Rs 15.59 lakh

Skoda has launched the Kushaq Anniversary Edition in India. It will be made available with 1-liter and 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engines, as well as manual and automatic transmissions. Skoda Kushaq prices are currently between Rs 11.29 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Skoda Kushaq has benefited from several updates over&nbsp;the past few months.

A couple of weeks after revamping the feature list of the Kushaq SUV, Skoda has now added to it two new features as standard across the range –from the base Active Peace variant to the top-spec Style variant.

With the recent update, all variants of the Skoda Kushaq will come with a tyre pressure monitoring system and a start/stop button as standard. The new features don’t come at a premium, which means that the car will be sold at the same price as before.&nbsp;

Before this addition, the car had received several updates. For instance, the top-spec Style variant got the digital instrument cluster in July 2022. Also, the company ditched the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system for a smaller 8.0-inch unit with physical knobs and buttons.&nbsp;

Before that, two new variants, Active Peace and Style NSR (Non-sunroof) were added to the line-up. The former became the new entry point into the lineup at a price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available with a 1.0-litre petrol engine, which comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Meanwhile, the Style NSR variant comes at a starting price of Rs 15.09 lakh (ex-showroom), which&nbsp;is Rs 20,000 more affordable than the Style variant.&nbsp;

Skoda Kushaq SUV gets two new features in India - Details here

Skoda has yet again added two new features as standard across all variants of the Kushaq SUV in India. The lineup now comes with Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Start/Stop button in all variants.

The Skoda Kushaq Style 1.0-litre TSI with manual transmission now gets a new NSR variant that ditches a few features including a sunroof and rain-sensing wipers among others.&nbsp;

The Skoda Kushaq has received yet another variant update for this year. The new Style NSR variant will sit just below the top-spec Style variant. While the variant comes void of a few features, the range, as a while gets a few additional equipment.&nbsp;

The NSR in the name stands for ‘Non-Sunroof'. In addition to this, Skoda has also ditched features including rain-sensing wipers and auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror in the new variant. The car also gets a smaller 15-inch spare wheel instead of the larger 16-inch one.&nbsp;

The new variant is only available with a 1.0-litre TSI motor that comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Prices for this variant start at Rs 15.09 lakh (ex-showroom, India), making it Rs 20,000 more affordable than the Style variant.&nbsp;

It is to be mentioned that <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/skoda/">Skoda</a> has added more standard features to the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/skoda/kushaq/">Kushaq</a> range. The car now gets Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) from the base variant, while the Style gets a new roof liner and a full-digital instrument cluster. Prices for the car remain unchanged at Rs 11.29 lakh for the base 1.0-litre TSI Active variant going up to Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the top-end 1.5-litre TSI Style AT.&nbsp;

Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI Manual gets new NSR variant without sunroof

Skoda has introduced a new NSR variant for the Kushaq SUV. The new variant misses out on a sunroof and sits below the top-spec Style variant with prices starting at Rs 15.09 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The recently introduced Monte Carlo edition of the Kushaq will continue to get the 10-inch screen.

Skoda India has had to resort to drastic measures to tackle the ongoing semiconductor shortage. It is reducing the touchscreen size in the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/skoda/kushaq/">Kushaq</a> SUV and <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/skoda/kushaq/">Slavia</a> sedan from 10-inches to 8-inches.

The change in size is applicable on the Ambition and Style variants of both cars, which were previously offered with the larger 10-inch HD display. Not a lot of information is out about the new display, apart from the fact that it will be a Panasonic unit.

There is more bad news. The screen will not only be smaller in size, but it will not support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Skoda Play ap will also not be supported. There is a silver lining though and that is, that the Monte Carlo edition which was launched recently will continue to get the larger 10-inch touchscreen.

As far as the price goes, Skoda should reduce the price of the affected variants, although there has been no communication on the same till now.&nbsp; The Czezh carmaker has taken this drastic step so that customers don’t have to wait months to take delivery of their new Skoda vehicle.

As you can see in the table above, Skoda is charging a premium of Rs 70,000 for the Monte Carlo variant of the Kushaq, which is available with all powertrain options of the Kushaq.

As far as the cosmetic updates are concerned, the Monte Carlo editions come&nbsp;with a blacked-out grille surround, Monte Carlo badges on the fender, vRS 245 alloy wheels, matte-black roof rails, a gloss-black roof, blacked-out badges on the boot lid, and a black-chrome strip running across its width. The 1.5 TSI version also gets red brake callipers.

The interior, too, receives red applique on the dashboard. There are also red surrounds around the door handles and the centre console. The seats too are finished in black and red, and the Monte Carlo badging can be found on the headrests and scuff plates.

The Monte Carlo variant also gets feature updates. The touchscreen now features a red colour scheme, but more importantly, the Kushaq Monte Carlo gets a digital instrument cluster, like the Volkswagen Taigun. There’s also an 8-speaker sound system, which, according to <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/skoda/">Skoda</a>, has high-performance speakers and a subwoofer. Lastly, the passenger side of the dashboard gets red ambient lighting as well.

While red is the exterior colour of the Kushaq Monte Carlo, which we absolutely love, you can also get it in white (optional). With this variant, the ex-showroom price of the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/skoda/kushaq/">Kushaq</a> is now close to the Rs 20 lakh mark.

Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo launched, prices start at Rs 15.99 lakh

Skoda has introduced a new Monte Carlo edition of the Kushaq and it features cosmetic updates along with some feature upgrades as well. Skoda is demanding a premium of Rs 70,000 for the SUV over the Style variant.

The Kushaq’s new Active Peace variant misses out on all infotainment related features.

According to reports, Skoda has launched a new Active Peace variant of the Kushaq, which&nbsp;has now become&nbsp;the new base variant, with a sticker price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). For your reference, the Active variant, which was previously the base variant is priced at Rs 10.99 lakh.

To make it relatively cheaper,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/skoda/kushaq/">Skoda</a> has taken away the infotainment system from the Active variant, i.e., the screen, speakers, and USB ports. From unofficial pictures that we have seen online, there’s quite an awkward hollow space in place of the screen, but at least this will allow Kushaq owners to purchase aftermarket audio systems if they so wish.

Just like the Active variant, the Active Peace variant is only available with the 1.0 TSI engine (113bhp and 178Nm), which is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The automatic (6-speed torque converter) transmission is available from the newly-launched Ambition Classic variant onwards.

With the introduction of the new variant, Skoda has managed to kill&nbsp;two birds with one stone. First, it has made the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/skoda/kushaq/">Kushaq</a> an easier car to buy by dropping the entry price&nbsp;and making it a prudent choice for those who like to opt for their own aftermarket audio setup. Second, cars priced under Rs 10 lakh in India are subject to a slightly relaxed taxation structure, which is always a plus.

Skoda Kushaq Active Peace variant comes in under Rs 10 lakh!

The Skoda Kushaq now gets a new Active Peace, which is also the new base variant for the SUV. It is available with only one powertrain choice, and comes without any infotainment features.

The new variant of the Kushaq is offered only with the 1.0 TSI engine.

Compared to the Ambition variant,&nbsp;the Ambition Classic variant misses out on&nbsp;automatic climate control and the MySkoda Connect features (telematics).

With this new variant, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/skoda/kushaq/">Kushaq</a>&nbsp;has become&nbsp;a more versatile offering, as it is now a more value-oriented proposition for those looking at its lower variants. Skoda, however, continues to offer the larger 1.5 TSI engine only with the top-spec Style variant of the Kushaq, which would ideally find&nbsp;more takers at the lower end of the variant list.

However, the Czech carmaker will soon introduce a new Monte Carlo edition of the Kushaq, which could be based on the top-spec Style variant and may feature the larger 1.5 TSI motor.

Skoda has introduced a new variant of the Kushaq called Ambition Classic. It has been positioned below the regular Ambition variant and misses out on a couple of features compared to it while costing marginally lesser.

Given the rising input costs and logistic charges, Skoda India will increase the prices of its cars and SUVs from the next month.&nbsp;

Skoda India has announced a price hike, which will come into effect from January 1, 2022. The price hike will be applicable to all the models currently on sale. Currently, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/skoda/">Skoda</a> India has the Rapid, Kushaq, Octavia, and Superb on sale.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/skoda-slavia-debuts-in-production-form-launch-in-early-2022-110352/">The Skoda Slavia will join the portfolio mostly by Q1 of 2022</a>.

Coming back to the price increase, all Skoda cars will be dearer by three per cent from next month.

That being said, <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/skoda-rapid-production-ends-110242/">Skoda has pulled the plug on the Rapid and the sedans, which are on sale until the remaining stock</a>.

‘The decision to increase prices from January 1, 2022, is a result of the rising input costs and increased operational costs,’ Skoda Auto Brand Director Zac Hollis said in a statement.

‘Despite the macro-economic challenges, the company has worked to ensure that the customer impact in terms of the incremental price increase is minimal,' Zac further added.

Skoda India to hike prices from next month

The top-of-the-line Style automatic variant of the Skoda Kushaq now gets safer. The brand has updated the mid-sized SUV with more features and that has resulted in a price hike.

Just days away from the India launch of the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda India has launched the updated Kushaq. The updates are limited to the Skoda Kushaq’s Style (automatic) AT variant only while all the other variants remain unchanged.

The Skoda Kushaq in its updated Style AT variant now offers six airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The addition of these two features has upped the price of the Style AT variant by Rs 40,000. Other than the addition of two features the Style AT variant is unchanged.

The more affordable Skoda Kushaq 1.0-litre Style AT now costs Rs 16.20 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the top-of-the-line Kushaq 1.5-litre Style AT now retails for Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).

<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/skoda/">Skoda India</a> has also bagged 10,000 bookings for the Kushaq within almost two and a half months of its launch.&nbsp;Skoda has also issued a recall for the Kushaq. Some units of the car show signs of power loss and undergo a complete engine shut-down because of a faulty fuel pump. The brand will replace the fuel pumps in the affected cars. As a precautionary step, Skoda will also replace the fuel pumps of those units that do not show any fuel-related symptoms.

Just recently, Skoda India discontinued the Rider Plus variant of the Rapid sedan. The rider plus was positioned above the base Rider variant and packed features such as a 6.5-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, climate control and an armrest.

The Skoda Rapid Rider Plus was priced at Rs 8.19 lakh (ex-showroom) and Zac Hollis, Brand Director - Skoda Auto India has confirmed that this specif variant will be available till the stocks last.
