Triumph was initially scheduled to launch the Street Triple RS on 25th March, but the nation-wide lockdown forced them to reschedule. They will now launch the bike online on their official twitter handle

Last week we brought you a list of all the car launches that have been delayed due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Meanwhile, in the motorcycle scene, Triumph was forced to cancel the launch of the 2020 Street Triple RS on 25th March. But now, there’s some good news at last. The British bike maker has just announced that the bike will officially be launched on 22nd April. Unlike most product launches, this one will not be limited to journalists. Triumph has opted to conduct the launch on their official twitter handle, which means fans and enthusiasts will be able to witness it too. The launch is scheduled for 11:30am.

Coming to the motorcycle itself, the 2020 iteration of the Street Triple sports marginal changes on the engine front. The 765cc three-cylinder heart is now not just lighter but at 79Nm, it makes 2Nm more than before. In terms of rideability, Triumph engineers claim to have worked on bettering the mid-range of the motorcycle. Additionally, the British bikemaker has also fitted it with a bi-directional quickshifter and a new free-flow exhaust.

The 2020 Street Triple isn’t much of a visual overhaul and continues to share most of its cues with the older version. For 2020, the street naked gets revised LED headlamps and a more compact exhaust with a carbon fibre tip. There’s more on offer in terms of riding aid too, including a refreshed TFT dash with improved graphics.

This will be the first model launch in the year from Triumph India. The company is also expected to bring in the new Tiger 900 later this year.
