The scooter has been launched in three trims – with a rear drum, with a rear disc and in the more rugged looking Street Rally avatar. Prices start at Rs 76,830 (ex-showroom). The RayZR is the second Yamaha scooter to get hybrid functionality

In June this year, we reported that Yamaha will be bringing in 5 two-wheelers this year. The Japanese bike maker has already brought in the Fascino 125 Hybrid in July. And now, the company has introduced the new RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid with prices starting at Rs 76,830 for the variant with the rear drum brake. Yamaha has also brought in two more variants – with the rear disc option and the Street Rally, priced at Rs 79,830 and Rs 83,830. All prices ex-showroom Delhi.

All three trims are powered by the same 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel injected motor that develops 8bhp and 10.3Nm – same as the Fascino that was launched in July. The standard trim as well as the Street Rally version, both, tips the scale at 99kg. Interestingly, despite the increased cost, the Street Rally doesn’t get a rear disc brake. It does, however, get some design changes from the standard model like the knuckle guards, block pattern tyres and more.

Just like in the Fascino, the RayZR also gets a Starter Motor Generator (SMG) that acts as an electric motor to give assistance when l from standstill, effectively functioning as a hybrid system. This system also helps reduce the wobble at the time of starting the scooter. Other features include an LED headlight, a digital instrument cluster, start/stop system and Bluetooth connectivity with Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X APP. Features on the Bluetooth connected app include riding history, parking location, answer back and more. The lower-spec drum brake trim does not get the Bluetooth connectivity feature.

Yamaha offers the Street Rally in two colour options - Sparkle Green and Matt Copper, while the standard RayZR is on offer in five colours - Cocktail Yellow, Racing Blue, Cyan Blue, Matt Red, and Metallic Black. The drum brake variant is only offered in Cyan Blue and Metallic Black.
