Say hello to the new BMW R 1250 RS, the latest sports tourer from Bavaria.

BMW's R 1250 RS has been updated for the model year 2023, which is a sports tourer that competes with models like the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX. Interestingly, the new model gets more standard features and add-ons to its sports touring potential. The firm, however, has not yet stated whether or not the BMW R 1250 RS would be launched in India.

Powering the motorcycle is a 1,254cc air / liquid-cooled two-cylinder boxer engine. The BMW R 1250 RS also gets ShiftCam technology, which has been tweaked to support the newly introduced ECO mode. The engine generates a maximum power output of 134bhp at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 143Nm at 6,250rpm. The gearbox offered is a six-speed unit with an anti-hopping clutch. Additionally, it gets a shaft drive, just like the big GS.

The bike now gets Dynamic Traction Control, BMW Motorrad ABS Pro, and Dynamic Brake Control as standard. The bike also gets new LED turn indicators, a new Ice Grey colour, and optional Style Triple Black and Style Sport Light White / Racing Blue metallic / Racing Red metallic colours. Moreover, the company is also offering a redesigned single seat with a rear cover and new spoke wheels as optional extras.

The sports tourer's suspension setup comprises the BMW Paralever suspension and 45mm up-side forks. Cast aluminium has been used to make the 17-inch wheels. The twin 320mm floating discs, with four-piston radial callipers, and a single 276mm disc, with a two-piston floating calliper, are used for braking duties at the front and rear, respectively.

Among other features, there's an adjustable windscreen, hill-start control, LED lighting, a TFT screen, a 12-volt accessory socket, a rotary multi-controller, an adjustable hand-brake and clutch levers, and steering stabilise, along with engine drag torque control (MSR), heated seats for the rider and pillion, and tube handlebars.
