Triumph has officially commenced deliveries of its street-naked motorcycle —the 2023 Street Triple 765 range in India. The Street Triple R and the top-of-the-line Street Triple RS are the two variants available for the bike in the country, with starting prices of Rs 10.17 lakh and Rs 11.81 lakh, respectively. These are ex-showroom figures. Both versions of the Street Triple 765 have been updated with sportier and more aggressive designs. They also come with improved fly screens, slimmer fuel tank extensions, and a taller tail section. The R variant is available in Silver Ice and Crystal White paint options, while the RS model offers three different colour choices: Carnival Red, Cosmic Yellow, and Silver Ice. With the official start of bookings for the new Street Triple 765 range, let's take a closer look at its features and specifications.
2023 Triumph Street Triple 765: Engine
The 2023 Triumph Street Triple range is still powered by the same 765cc, inline-three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, but it has been modified to render additional power. This has been achieved by using new pistons, connecting rods, a shorter intake, and a new camshaft. The liquid-cooled motor on the Street Triple 765 R now produces 80Nm of maximum torque at 9,500rpm and 118.4bhp of power at 11,500rpm. In contrast, the higher-spec Street Triple RS version with a similar unit cranks out 80Nm of maximum torque at 9,500rpm and 128.2bhp of peak power at 12,000rpm, exhibiting an increase of 6bhp. With the use of a slip-and-assist clutch, a 6-speed gearbox transmits power to the back wheel.
2023 Triumph Street Triple 765: Hardware
The new gullwing swingarm that rides on Showa's 41mm upside-down front forks is another modification Triumph made to the new Street Triple's chassis. Showa supplies the rear suspension for the R model, while Ohlins is used for the RS version. The top-of-the-line RS variant comprises Brembo Stylema anchors, which include a 220mm rear disc and twin 310mm front discs with four-piston radial callipers. The brakes on both versions are of Brembo.
2023 Triumph Street Triple 765: Features
The new Street Triple lineup comprises several electronic aids, like multiple riding modes, including Road, Rain, Sport, Rider, and Track (only in RS), multi-level traction control, cornering ABS, lean-sensitive traction control, and a bi-directional quick-shifter. It also has all-LED lighting and DRLs, Bluetooth connectivity, a 5-inch TFT instrument panel, and more.
