Yamaha Motor India recently launched the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid, Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid, and Ray ZR Street Rally 125 Fi Hybrid models for 2023. The entire 125cc scooter lineup is now E20 fuel- and OBD2-compliant. The newly updated scooters use the same 125cc air-cooled fuel-injected 4-stroke SOHC 2-valve hybrid engine, which produces 8bhp of maximum power at 6,500rpm and 10.3Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission with a V-Belt. The engine is equipped with a smart motor generator (SMG) system. According to the manufacturer, the intelligent power assist function, which is based on Yamaha's true hybrid technology, provides extra thrust by using the SMG system, which also serves as an electric motor. This increases the bike’s linear power when accelerated from a halt, reducing wobble on uphill climbs. Additionally, the 125 Fi Hybrid engine has a side-stand engine cut-off and the automatic stop-and-start function.

OBD2 compliance will soon go into effect, and Yamaha India wants to ensure that its products comply with the upcoming change in emission standards. In fact, it is among the first two-wheeler producers in India to introduce E20 compatibility and OBD2 compliance across its entire line of products. The OBD sensor, also known as the onboard diagnostic system, aids in the real-time identification of any emission concerns your vehicle may have and assists you in addressing them.
