2024 Kawasaki KX 85, KLX 300R Dirt Bikes Launched in India, Prices Start at Rs 4.20 Lakh

Kawasaki has launched its two updated dirt motorcycles in the Indian market. The 2024 versions of the KX 85 and the KLX 300R will be imported as completely built-up units, priced at Rs 4.20 lakh and Rs 5.60 lakh, respectively. Prices are ex-showroom. 

First off, the 2024 KX 85 motorcycle is powered by an 84cc single, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 2-stroke engine. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, this motor comes nestled within a tubular, semi-double cradle frame. The Japanese manufacturer has yet to disclose power and torque figures. In terms of hardware, this dirt bike gets a 36mm inverted fork with adjustable compression damping at the front and a fully adjustable Uni Trak monoshock at the rear, with 275mm of wheel travel at both ends.

Stopping power comes from a single 202mm disc at the front and a single 150mm disc at the rear. The Kawasaki KX 85 rolls on 17-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels shod with Dunlop MX33 tyres, which are said to offer excellent grip, slide control, bump absorption and durability. The riding position on the KX 85 is a combination of six-position adjustable handlebar mounts as well as radiator shrouds to comfortably accommodate a wide range of rider heights.

Meanwhile, the KLX 300R draws power from a 292cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine. Mated to a 6-speed transmission, this engine is good enough to make 29bhp at 8,000rpm and 26Nm at 7,000rpm. A tubular, semi-double cradle chassis nestles this engine and is suspended with the help of an inverted front fork and a Uni Trak rear monoshock, both offering 285mm of wheel travel. The braking hardware consists of a 244mm disc at the front and a 215mm disc at the rear. These petal-type discs come mounted on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. Also up for offer with this bike is a 4-way adjustable handlebar setup.
