Ola Electric has expanded its array of electric scooters with a new model, a variant for the S1 X series. For the uninitiated, the new S1 X offering, which is priced higher than all of the other models, was just released by the brand and comes with a 4kWh battery pack. With this new addition, there are currently four distinct variants of the scooter available for purchase on the market, based on features, battery pack, as well as other factors. Every S1 variant comes with a complimentary 8-year warranty, or up to 80,000-kilometre, with full coverage against defects. Buyers can also extend the battery warranty for up to 1.25 lakh-kilometre for Rs 12,999. Ola's S1 X series batteries have higher thermal efficiency, an IP67 rating for water and dust protection, and an option to transfer battery ownership if the scooter is sold. Nonetheless, the 8-year battery warranty does not cover the Ola S1 X base model with a 2kWh battery. Here's a closer look at each of the Ola S1X variants.

Ola S1 X with 2kWh Battery Pack

Ola Electric's entry-level model, the S1X with the 2kWh battery pack, retails for an ex-showroom price of Rs 79,999. The scooter is capable of going from 0 to 40km/h in 4.1 seconds, and it has an IDC range of 95-kilometre. Its maximum speed is 85km/h. Using a home charger, the battery pack can be completely charged in five hours. When it comes to the feature set, Ola's base model comes with a 4.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, a physical key to unlock and start the EV, dual rear shocks, telescopic front suspension, drum brakes on both ends, and three riding modes: Normal, Sports, and Eco.

Ola S1 X with 3kWh Battery Pack

Ola S1 X 1

Priced at Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom), the 3kWh battery pack option is an upgrade from the 2kWh battery pack option. The Ola S1 X equipped with a 3kWh battery pack has a stated IDC rage of 143-kilometre, and it can sprint from 0 to 40km/h in 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 90 km/h. According to the EV manufacturer, the scooter takes 7.4 hours to fully charge. The S1 X that includes the 3kWh battery pack has features that are comparable to those of the 2kWh battery pack model. These amenities comprise an LCD console, front and rear 12-inch wheels, drum brakes on both ends, and a physical key.

Ola S1 X+ with 3kWh Battery Pack

Next on the list is the S1 X+ variant, which costs Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom) and is propelled by a 3kWh battery pack. With a top speed of 90km/h, the S1 X+ can accelerate from 0 to 40km/h in 3.3 seconds, and the advertised range stands at 151-kilometre. Furthermore, the model requires 7.4 hours to fully charge, just like the S1 X with the 3kWh battery pack. While some features, like the 12-inch wheels, drum brakes on both ends, and the three ride modes, are similar to the S1 X models as mentioned above, there are a few notable variations with regard to features. The S1 X+ gets a larger 5-inch LCD instrument console, digital key, phone connectivity, navigation, and cruise control, among others.

Ola S1 X with 4kWh Battery Pack

Available at an asking price of Rs 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom), the S1 X fitted with a 4kWh battery pack is the most expensive variant of the range, currently on offer. With a top speed of 90km/h and an IDC range of 190-kilometre, the scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40km/h in 3.3 seconds. Besides this, a complete charge of the battery pack requires 6.5 hours. The electric motor has three riding modes: Eco, Normal, and Sports and it still churns out 8bhp of maximum power. Feature-wise, the S1 X (4kWh) has 12-inch tyres, drum brakes on both ends, a 4.3-inch LCD panel, a physical key, and weighs 112kg.

Ola S1 X Plus

In December last year, Ola Electric began delivering S1 X+ electric scooters throughout India. Meanwhile, bookings for the new, higher-priced 4kWh variant are now being accepted and deliveries for the same are scheduled to begin in April. The company also revealed that it will deploy 10,000 fast chargers by April in addition to expanding from 400 to 600 service outlets.
