Aesthetically, the GSX-8R retains its sharp, athletic profile with vertically arranged hexagonal LED headlamps, a tall windscreen, and clip-on forged aluminium handlebars. Indian buyers can choose from three finishes – Metallic Triton Blue, Metallic Matte Sword Silver, and Metallic Matte Black No.2.
Mechanically, the bike continues to use a 776cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, also seen in the V-Strom 800DE. It generates 81.8bhp of maximum power at 8,500rpm and 78Nm of peak torque at 6,800rpm. This motor is paired with a 6-speed transmission featuring an assist-and-slipper clutch and a 2-in-1 exhaust setup.
The GSX-8R rides on a steel diamond-type frame suspended by Showa SFF-BP USD front forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by dual 310mm front discs and a 240mm disc at the back. The bike carries a 14-litre fuel tank and tips the scales at 205 kg.
In terms of equipment, the motorcycle is equipped with the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.), offering an array of electronic aids. These include multiple ride modes via the Drive Mode Selector, traction control, a bi-directional quickshifter, ride-by-wire throttle, Low RPM Assist, and the Easy Start feature.
