India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd. (IKM) has launched the 2026 KLX 230 at an attractive price of Rs 1.99 lakh, which is a significant reduction of approximately Rs 1.31 lakh from its earlier Rs 3.30 lakh price tag. This significant price decrease is mainly because the bike is now made locally, reducing production and import expenses. While the core design is intact, the updated model has some mechanical adjustments. These are reduced suspension travel at both ends and the switch from a dual-channel to a single-channel one. Other elements of the bike remain unchanged, and it continues to be offered in two colour choices: Lime Green and Battle Grey.

The KLX 230 packs a 233cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that puts out 18.73bhp and 19Nm, and is paired with a 6-speed transmission. It is equipped with a 37mm telescopic fork at the front with 220mm of travel and a Uni-Trak-linked rear monoshock with 223mm of travel. Stopping power comes from disc brakes at both ends, supported by a single-channel ABS. The bike rolls on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. The KLX 230 remains lightweight at 139 kg and offers an 880mm seat height.

The KLX 230 marks Kawasaki’s entry into the road-legal dual-sport segment in India. It features a narrow frame and wire-spoke wheels, all pointing to its off-road capability. The front fender is tall, and the headlamp is housed in a plastic cowl. The upswept exhaust and compact seat give the KLX 230 a rugged yet clean look.

As for the features, the bike features an LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity through the Kawasaki Rideology app, enabling riders to receive calls and SMS alerts.
With the significant price cut, the Kawasaki KLX 230 is now positioned much closer to bikes like the Hero Xpulse 210(Rs 1.86 lakh) and the Xpulse 200 4V (Rs 1.52 lakh), making it a strong contender in the entry-level off-road segment.
