Ather recently introduced a new low-cost variant dubbed, the 450S in response to the latest reductions in the FAME-II subsidy. The 450S is at present the most affordable Ather model. With this launch, the firm seeks to grab a larger portion of the Indian electric two-wheeler industry. The 450S has a top speed of 90km/h and an IDC range of 115-kilometre. The Ola S1 Air, Ola Electric's most budget-friendly electric scooter, competes with it in our home market. Bookings for the 450S are presently open for a nominal fee of Rs 2,500 and the deliveries for the same are set to commence on August 25. Apart from this, the homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer has updated its previous 450X e-scooter's variant portfolio and is now selling it with a smaller 2.9kWh battery pack. Here is an overview of Ather's model range, which is now available for purchase in a total of three variants.

Ather 450S with 2.9kWh Battery Pack

The recently introduced 450S, with a starting price of Rs 1.30 lakh, is the most cost-effective model in Ather's lineup. In this model, you will find a more basic LCD colour display has been installed in place of the 450X's 7-inch TFT touchscreen for the sake of reducing expenses. However, it still has a lot of the features from the 450X, such as Bluetooth connectivity, which lets you manage music playing and phone calls, as well as on-board navigation (in this case, a turn-by-turn system).

The reduction in battery capacity, from 3.7kWh to 2.9kWh, has significantly lowered the cost. As a result, range estimates have decreased as well, with an IDC claimed range that is about 20 per cent less than the 450X's with its 3.7kWh battery pack. According to Ather, you can anticipate 90-kilometre in SmartEco mode and 70-kilometre in Sport mode in the actual world. Additionally, the engine has been slowed down to lessen the demand for the smaller battery pack, and warp mode is not an option here. Thus, the output values are 7.2bhp and 22Nm. It can go up to 90km/h. As already mentioned, the 450S has a starting price of Rs 1.30 lakh, but the Pro pack is the only way to access the majority of the LCD display's features. This raises the cost to Rs 1.43 lakh and provides OTA updates and a battery warranty of 5 years/60,000 kilometre. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom.,

Ather 450X with 2.9kWh Battery Pack

The Ather 450X has been available with a larger 3.7kWh battery pack that provided an increase in range over the Gen 2 scooter as soon as it stepped into its third-gen. As a result of the subsidy reduction, prices have increased, which has led Ather to release a new 450X variation with a smaller 2.9kWh battery pack. Contrary to the 450S, this model still comes with the 7-inch TFT touchscreen, the larger rear tyre, and Warp mode (if the customer opts for the Pro Pack). Aside from the incorporation of Warp mode, which reduces the real-world range to 60-kilometre, the manufacturer claims that the range is almost identical to that of the 450S. Similar to the 450S, the claimed maximum range (in SmartEco mode) is 90-kilometre. It is comparable to the 450S with regard to charging as well. The retail prices for the 450X with the 2.9kWh battery pack range from Rs 1.38 lakh to Rs 1.53 lakh, depending on whether you choose the Pro pack. Both prices are ex-showroom.

Ather 450X with 3.7kWh Battery Pack

The 450X will also be available from Ather with a 3.7kWh battery pack (on sale since July last year). According to the company, it intends to continue delivering this model to customers who need and want the additional range and are ready to shell out for it. To avoid forcing customers to pay for greater battery capacity if they don't need it, it will also offer the smaller 2.9kWh version concurrently. The highest range figures in the Ather line-up can be found in this model as a result of this. These are 110-kilometre in SmartEco mode and 75-kilometre in Warp mode. Starting at Rs 1.45 lakh, the top-of-the-line 450X has prices that reach up to Rs 1.68 lakh, if you choose the Pro variant. Prices are ex-showroom.
