Bajaj Auto has launched what it claims to be the most fuel efficient bike in the 100cc category - the Platina ES.

The Pune based company conducted a global study of mileage across 50 countries and 500 different motorcycle models. It found out that no one could outclass the Platina ES which delivers 96.9 km/l as per ARAI testing.

Speaking at the launch, Mr Eric Vas, President of Bajaj’s motorcycle business said: The original Bajaj Platina has always been known for its great mileage and reliability. It is one of India’s most successful bike model with more than 50 Lakh bikes on road. The new Platina now takes mileage to an unbeatable level of 96.9 km/l making it the ‘World’s Mileage Champion’.  Moreover it adds superior styling and Electric Start to make it a very attractive proposition to the everyday commuter.”

The Platina ES has been designed for the long distance commuter, and features telescopic front and SNS (double spring) rear suspension. Bajaj also claims to have the longest seat in the segment to make the ride comfortable for the passenger behind.

For superior grip on uneven roads, it takes advantage of its long wheelbase and three inch wide rear tyres. It also gets a new DTS-i engine which can be started electronically.

New headlamps, graphics and alloy wheels give the Platina ES a refreshed feel over its predecessor.

The all new Bajaj Platina ES is priced competitively at Rs 44,507(on-road, Delhi) and is available in three colour schemes: Ebony Black, Electron Blue and Candy Red.
