BMW F 450 GS Begins Production at TVS plant

Production of the BMW F 450 GS ADV has begun at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur facility, taking the long-running BMW–TVS partnership into a new phase. With the G 310 GS discontinued, the F 450 GS ADV now steps in as the new base model in BMW’s GS adventure range. It uses a 420cc parallel-twin engine that produces 48bhp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm. BMW aims to use local manufacturing to expand its adventure lineup, strengthen its India presence, and support growing demand across global markets.

The BMW F 450 GS ADV now serves as the new entry point into the GS family and is aimed at riders starting their journey in the adventure space. The parallel-twin engine layout supports smooth and predictable power delivery across varied conditions. By moving away from the G 310 GS platform, BMW shifts its focus to a slightly larger base that fits broader market needs and offers more flexibility in day-to-day use.

Production at the Hosur plant follows systems refined over years of collaboration between BMW and TVS. Both brands continue to align on manufacturing standards, with BMW drawing from TVS’s established production capabilities. This structure allows the companies to meet demand in India and export markets while maintaining a steady and scalable workflow

BMW confirmed the motorcycle’s engineering details and design, signalling a clear direction for the brand’s middleweight adventure lineup. The model is expected to attract riders who want a simple, balanced motorcycle that can handle highway runs and unpaved routes while staying true to the GS identity.
