BMW Motorrad has confirmed that the long-awaited F 450 GS will be launched in India on April 23, 2026. The new middleweight adventure, production of which is already underway at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur facility, will add to the brand’s iconic GS lineup. It is likely to fall in the price bracket of between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom), and rival the KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and Honda NX500 in India. Here’s all you need to know about the new, entry-level GS in India.

At its heart, the F 450 GS, BMW Motorrad has a 420cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 47bhp of maximum power and 43Nm of peak torque while being mated to a 6-speed transmission. It also benefits from BMW’s Shift Assistant Pro, which offers clutchless shifting.
BMW Motorrad offers four variants of the F 450 GS in the international market: Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and Trophy. The ADV is offered in multiple colours, including Cosmic Black, Racing Red, and Racing Blue Metallic, depending on the variant. Key features include a 6.5-inch TFT screen with smartphone integration, traction control, multiple riding modes, cornering ABS, a bi-directional quickshifter, Easy Ride Clutch, and engine braking control.
The BMW Motorrad F 450 GS is underpinned by a tubular steel frame. It uses USD front forks and a rear monoshock for suspension. Stopping power comes from a 310mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc. The ADV rides on a 19-/17-inch wheel setup. It tips scales at 178kg, and has a seat height of 845mm, which can be adjusted to 830mm or 865mm to offer an accessible experience to different riders.
