Harley-Davidson is to gradually bring its entire 2018 Softail series to India.

Harley-Davidson has added two new models to its Softail series in India. The Milwaukee-based bike maker has also passed on the recent import duty revision benefits to the customers by slashing the prices of its CBU range.

The Softail Deluxe and Softail Low Rider are now available in India at Rs. 17.99 lakh and Rs. 12.99 lakh, respectively. The company has also launched a special Anniversary Edition variant of the recently launched Fat Boy at Rs. 19.79 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

The two new bikes debuted globally in 2017 as a part of the seven new Softail models that were revealed together. The Deluxe is a vintage, chrome-heavy cruiser with elements like skirted steel fenders, white wall tyres and classic pull-back handlebar, giving it a vintage American cruiser look.

The Low Rider on the other hand is inspired by the ‘70s custom chopper era. It features a throwback-style, dual-tank mount speedo and tach gauges, 19-inch front and 16-inch rear ‘radiate’ cast wheels, two-into-two shotgun exhaust and a plenty of chrome accents.

Common to the new Harley Davidson Softail models is the company’s all-new 1,745cc Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-Twin motor that features a 45-degree twin cylinder angle. The bikes also get new underpinnings, including a new chassis that is lighter and stiffer. Harley claims that the chassis is 34 per cent stiffer than the previous generation models and the swingarms are lighter by up to 8.16kg.

Moving on, Harley-Davidson has also announced a price revision for its Touring and CVO lineup. The Road King, which was previously priced at Rs. 28.37 lakh, will now be available at Rs. 24.99 lakh. The Street Glide Special has Rs. 3.50 lakh chopped off its previous price and is now available at Rs. 29.99 lakh. Similarly, the CVO Limited and Road Glide Special are now cheaper by Rs. 3.72 lakh and Rs. 2.50 lakh, respectively.
